Having trouble finding a front hood bug deflector to "properly" fit my 2021 RAM 2500 HD Laramie. Ordered one from Weather Tech that fit great and looked great but couldn't close my hood. Even tried using different style fasteners, still no luck closing hood. Returned to Weather Tech. Called my local dealership and parts managers said nothing available yet through RAM parts. Any suggestions?

Installation using the hardware provided. Should be hood, bug deflector, plastic clip, rubber seal and screw. So the screw goes through the rubber seal into the plastic clip that holds the deflector to the hood. May have to adjust your hood stops if the deflector touches the grill panel.

Instructions say the clip goes through the rubber seal into the deflector and hood. The rubber seal is too thick for this to work so follow the instructions above.

Hey, thanks for the response to my inquiry. I have had good luck with AVS in the past. In fact, I returned not only my bug deflector to Weather Tech but also my window vents as well and reordered from AVS. I will look into their bug deflector. Looks great BroKV and thanks for the installations tips.

I swear by AVS vent visors. May have been my first purchase for the Ram. On the fence about a bug deflector. That one does look nice though.

Funny you should mention that Sponge60. It was raining up here in the Pacific NW today and my RAM is a crew cab, big back windows. Had the rear window down a couple inches for our dog riding in the back seat. When I stopped to get out of truck I noticed all the water on the back seat. Fortunately, my first purchase was a rear seat cover for the dog. Can't wait for my AVS vent covers to arrive. :)

Great, thanks they look good. I have a white truck and the stick on ones make the black out tape look like it was cut short. I want to go with in-channel this time. I am usually pretty successful getting the dealer to throw in Mopar accessories at cost.

I just ordered the Mopar in chrome. Mainly to prevent stone chips on the hood leading edge. If it executes a bug or two it is a bonus. LOL

Installed it today. Had to modify the dumb instructions. Like it. Looks like part of the grill.

Do these deflectors help reduce bugs on the windshield or just protect the leading edge of the hood?

I have a mopar one and it pretty much just protects the leading edge from rock chips. I would not do it again. I have more hood lift/flutter then I did before I installed it and besides it is freaking ugly.
