So I am looking at replacing my tires and have been looking at the falken wild peaks at3 or the nitto recon grappler a/t. Just looking to see if anyone has used the recon grapplers yet?

Look at the ridge grappler, I had good luck with them on several trucks. When my new PW comes in the first thing I'm doing is putting those on in a 31/70/17

I have had a set of them and wore through them very quickly.

I've given up on the Nitto's, after running multiple sets for several years they just wear too fast for my liking. Currently running Cepek trail country EXP's (which are now Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP, they bought cepek out) and have been very pleased with them. I'll buy them again

But you are going to get 100 different answers on what people like or feel is the best......

Yep, 100 people will answer with 100 different opinions.

I've run Cooper Discover AT3's on a f250 4x4 and they lasted a long time. Worked good off road and in the sand dunes. Bit of road noise.
I've run BFG A/T's on a lot of different trucks and have them on my PW. Work good. No road noise.
I've run BFG M/T's on a K5 Blazer set up for serious off road and no issues on or of road. Not much road noise. Worked good in the sand dunes and in mud.

I have a set of Cooper Rugged Trek and so far I'm happy with them. Good towing capacity, Good wet weather traction, Good in wet sandy soil / mud... I have about 7k on them now and have little to no discernable wear.

Had to ditch my Ridge Grapplers, couldn't get them to balance. Went Toyo AT3's

Have run those Wildpeaks as well as Toyo OpenCountry AT3s in all seasons here in CO. Blizzards on highways, ice/snow packed mountain passes, rock filled jeep trails up mountains in warmer months. Both are excellent all season, all terrains.

I’m a huge fan of the Wildpeak AT3W. They wear well, have great traction off road and in the snow, and look good too. They are heavier than a number of other A/Ts though.

I guess I’m the opposite. For me, the only thing ridge grapplers do well is wear. I’ve gotten tons of miles out of them. Not impressed with them off pavement.

My next set will likely be duratracs

Can't go wrong with the tried and true BFG KO2s. I run 35s on my 22 PW.

I want to like KO2s because I’m a big BFG fan. But, they’re just not on the list for me.

It’s the .45acp of tires. It was good when it came out but Its outdated and not that good compared to modern stuff but they keep making it because people have a loyalty to it and keep buying it. Flame suit is ready.

The KO2 is the updated version of the AT BFG. KO3 is the updated version of the MT.

They came out not too long ago.

And BFG is still winning in off road racing. Toyo's are not doing so good. Too many flats. ;)

Km3 are the muds

BFG doesn’t run the KO2s in the desert they have specialized tires for that, Baja TA KR, I believe. BFG is also rock crawling champions that’s why I run Krawler KX red labels on my rock rig.

The ko2 came out in 2014 and looks the same as it did in the 90s

Yep. MT, Mud Terrain. ;)

And it all depends what class you are racing as to what tire you run. yea, the big boys are running the Baja T/A KR3's. But a lot of the other classes without the high power high speed rigs, run the KO2's.
And some classes run the Baja A/T at KoH. ;)

While the look is still the same as the 90's for the most part, the tech is a lot different. And the KO2's have side tread that the old '90's didn't. No need to change the classic A/T tread pattern when it works.;)
