Either that guy hated that wrench or maybe a social experiment? Park it somewhere and stand back and just watch how many people try and grab it? It might also be a good grip for your boot to step on! To give my truck some protection I use a beaver step or a hitch, helps in parking lots at least.

I think it messes with people’s heads that tailgate........they are afraid it will fall off, since they can’t see the welds, they back off or go around.
