Just what this forum needs, another CP4 thread. Feel free to remove it if you think it's been covered in another thread (I don't think it has).

I know we have many threads talking about the issues with the CP4, the lack of action from FCA etc.

I don't see too many folks talking about how many miles they have on their current CP4 truck without issues. Do you run a fuel additive at all?

For myself and others, it would be nice to know if there are higher mileages trucks running around without issues.

Personally, i just rolled over 30,000 KM on my 2020 3500. I do use a fuel additive from Archoil... not convinced it will help but i'm still doing it.

I would be lying if i said i had not thought about trading for a '21 for ease of mind.

Please leave CP4 opinions and grudges in other threads.

44,000 miles on my 2019 2500. First diesel truck I've owned. I use the Hot Shots EDT lubricity additive with every tank. No problems so far; love the truck.

Just under 24k in abbot a year, EDT (summer) or Hot shots anti-gel (winter) in every tank. I use the "Premium" dose for EDT which works out to an ounce/ fill-up. Friends all me crazy for using additive every tank but its cheap insurance for now. I also changed my fuel filters at 12k and they were dang near spotless. Getting ready to change them again in the next week or two.

2020 2500 with roughly 15k miles.

After the first couple of tanks, I ran Hot Shots EDT at the Performance recommendation with each refill. At about 8k miles, I also added 2oz of LX4 to the tank in addition to the EDT.

I wanted to add the fact since I ha e been using the Hot Shot Product my fuel mileage has improved as much as 3 MPG during combination driving. The added cetane in the product increases power. I think it’s a win win to use some type of product. It can not hurt..

The increase is from the engine breaking in not your additive

There is no snake oil that will give +3MPG.

It's engine finish that's improving your mileage probably by a factor of 3:1. You'd be lucky to see +1MPG using any additive.

Prior to using this additives I was getting 10 mpg in City travel. Stop signs , traffic lights. Moderate to heavy traffic. I now get avg 12 now in the city. I used to get 16 MPG on the highway, now I avg 18 to 19. Travel speed is 65 MPG. Level roadways. I stated in my original post the improvements were combined driving conditions. Say what you want , I am sharing my information for others to see and decide if they may benefit from add in products. I have no motive to provide false information and I don’t benefit from the product company in any way except for the results I have received from use. You decide what may help you and your needs.

This is for 19-20 trucks with the CP4.2…. Your 18 with a CP3 should last the life of the truck lol
