Sounds like somebody used it to come to a stop, then went to look at their phone or checked out somehow and it drove forward into the stopped car after 2 seconds. They might have sued or complained, and here we have our new legalese.

That info was in my 2021 manual. What year is your truck and how is that different from your manual?

Sounds like some Darwin Award candidate tried to get out of the vehicle...

I received the notice a few weeks ago for my 2019 3500.

I really wish the truck wouldn't cancel the brakes after coming to a stop. My wife's BMW has automatic cruise control. It will come to a full stop and stay stopped until I press the cruise control RESUME button or tap gas pedal.

That would make the most sense to me. I have not had ACC before so I am having to concentrate on what is happening in this example. I am not sure in this circumstance I would have been expecting the brakes to release after 2 seconds so that is good to know up front. My wife's 2020 Subaru has ACC but she has not mentioned this so I expect the Subaru also keeps the brakes on after a full ACC stop. Or maybe she only has used it so far in situations where it has not had to fully stop the car.

Wife's Subaru is the same...
