I have a 2019 Ram 2500 Mega Cab with off road package. I have read that 35 inch tires aren’t great for towing but 295/65/20 is about the same size and does better towing. Will the 295/65 fit and does anyone have an opinion on that?

I have them on my ‘17 OEM 20” wheels. They are Cooper STT Pros and they only rub the radius arms at full steer. Had they not been the STT pros with the aggressive tread I think the wouldnt rub at all

I have Yokohama 295/65/20 Geolander ATs on my 2019 2500 with off road package. They fit my truck without any rubbing, however, I have a Bilstein leveling kit installed which raises the front end about two inches. I’m very happy with them so far.

I am also considering the 295/65/20 size in Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I have a 2020 2500, but the twist is that I have the factory air suspension that auto levels the rear. So I am already level, and I'd prefer not to raise the truck any more. Can anyone speak from experience on this setup? Will the 295/65/20s fit my truck, with air rear suspension, using the stock 20x8 wheels, with no rubbing? Thanks in advance.

I run 295/60/20 Toyo AT3 on my 2500 which has the air suspension. I tow an 11,000 pound center console with no issues, no rubbing. Very happy with tires and they look great on the truck.

Nothing wrong with 35s and towing.

I'll be going to a Nitto Ridge Grappler in 35x11.50s for a no rub 35. I have no current plans to lift/level the front nor change the factory 20x8.5" wide wheel so that tire is almost tailor made for these trucks in stock config.

Clawdog got a pick of those showing the tread and such? I'm thinking about going the same but have yet to see them in that size. Thanks

Only one for now but I’ll take a few better pics tomorrow and post them. They’re 35.4 x 11.7 inches according to the Yokohama website. Their traction on wet roads and snow is far superior to the stock Firestones. Nice ride and very little road noise. For now this is all I have:

Thanks, I’ve yet to see the tread design in the larger sizes and am curious how open it is.

Nice! I think those would be perfect for my needs, towing our trailer with light off-road use. We frequent the desert and fire roads mostly, no serious stuff or mud really. Is yours diesel or gas? How has that size affected the gearing?

I think they’re perfect for that. My truck is a Diesel and I haven’t noticed any decreased performance or fuel economy as a result of the larger size.

Hi all! Looking to install new tires on my 21 Ram Cummins. Came down to 295-65-20 or 285-60-20. Any advise?

Just installed BG Goodrich K02s on mine, 285/65/20, a little taller tire, great ride and grip, and no rubbing at full turn. Had the same replacement tires on my 2018 as well. I love them.

I planned on going 295/65R20 for the stock wheels when my truck gets here….but the problem is the spare. 35x12.5 (actually 34.5”) can be crammed in the spare tire location. 295/65 are about 35.1”. Would be nice to hear from someone that was able to stuff a spare tire in.

Stock size for 20" wheels is 285/60R20.

I'm running 285/65R20 Falken Wildpeaks. I don't think they come in 295/65R20.

The equivalent spare on the 18" factory spare steel wheel is a 285/75R18 and slightly bigger and (just) barely fits in the spare tire spot. You'd be close enough on the spare also running a 295/65R20.
