2022 High mileage motor failures?

The thought that diesels love to idle is a holdover from when they were very difficult to start.

No engine likes to idle without a load.
It’s amazing how many people are willing to die on the hill of “let it idle”, despite decades of research, documentation, and evidence to the contrary.

Exactly and low speed idle to this day still causes cyl washdown not like it did with mechanical diesels but still happens

We also had much shorter OCI’s with mechanical diesels so any fuel from washdown was removed more often. With these 12 month/15K mile OCI’s fuel dilution is a real concern.

I think this is a more prominent causal factor in premature failures than the average owner realizes. Doubly so if they’re using fuel with higher percentages of biodiesel.

My fuel dilution is very low at 15k there is no added oil come oil change intervals before and after weight loss driving these engines hard is better than taking it easy typically they like to be worked
