2019 5500 aisin trans "vehicle not in park"

Truck will start in park. The "P" starts flashing and can't turn truck off unless pulling it down into neutral. Evic says vehicle not in park. Replaced the range sensor on side of trans and still same issue. Disconnected shift cable and trans physically does go into park. Scanner says it is in park but evic says otherwise. Any techs ever run into this issue? Very little info out there on this subject.

No, but if you get it figured out be sure to post up the solution in case it happens to someone else. I searched and couldn’t find a similar problem.

Figured it out. The plunger inside the park interlock switch on the steering column some how popped out, so it wasn't sending a signal to the dash that the shifter was physically in park. Installed new park interlock switch and all is good.
