I ordered a 2021 2500 with a jump seat in the front. I have 4 kids so I need to be able to carry everyone in a pinch. I’m not a fan of the 2500’s jump seat which only has a lap belt and doesn’t lock in the upright position. I’ve noticed that the jump seat in some of the newer 1500s comes with a shoulder belt (see pics). Would this jump seat out of a 1500 fit into a 2500?

So I just took home a 2021 3500 which I ordered. I previously had a 2019 1500 which had a shoulder harness in the jump seat. I was quite discouraged to learn the 3500 only has a lap belt in jump seat after I took it home. I have searched the forum here and don’t see any solutions. Coming from the 1500 I am pretty sure the jump seat in the 3500 is larger. I am not sure what the solution is but I want a shoulder harness in jump seat.

This is a really good point, although I did know going into my order process that the new 2500 only has the lap belt. Four kids here as well so I will certainly follow along and see what one of us comes up with. It's almost like one of us needs to experiment. The problem would be altering the truck and keeping it compliant safety wise....

Where did the pics come from? Is that a for sale ad?

This might be a solution. Looks like it has a metal frame and build in harness and can be secured with lap belt.

I don't need a booster/car seat any longer. Would just like the shoulder harness. Is my youngest daughter going to be the only one with a four or five point race harness in a brand new truck lol?

To each their own but the lap belt should more than suffice safety wise. I don’t think it will fit due to width and the connectors for the electrical might not match up either

I'm not concerned about any connectors as my tradesman has 1 electrical component in the jump seat that I never use. I have 4 kids and I have to use the jump seat when we are all in the truck

All the trucks have atleast the usb in the center console of the “jumpseat”

I remember when lap belts were all the front seat got..............

I've also rode in a bunch with no factory seat belts like my Dad's 49 Chevy pickup.
