The 22’ Hemi cc/lb I had wouldn’t get 20 mpg dropped out of an airplane. 65 mph, flat ground on the cruise empty got 16 for a 200 mile each way trip. I think the 72 miles on the trip odometer is probably the reason.

My 22 6.4 cc lb 4x4 50 gal 4.11 wouldn’t consider that. Backroads easy driving 15.5 mpg, hwy at 70-72 16-16.5mpg. When I fill up it shows a mid to high 700 mile range. I’m now at 20k miles.

I just did a short road trip with my ‘21 CCSB Hemi. Mostly 2 lane 55mph with some slower speed zones, some 70mph highway and minimal idle time. The E-liar said I was at 17.7. I was ok with that for my rig having 23k at this point.

I drove another 400+ miles and hand calculated 20.17. Multiply that by 50 gallons.

I wonder what is different about yours and a few others than most. Any ideas?
This is my 4th ram since 2004. My last was a 2014 2500 with the 6.4, 3.73's, and 6 speed. The best I ever got with it was 16.96 mpg. This 2021 truck runs on 4 cylinders a lot when driving 65 and under. That's all I can point to that returns the good mpg.

Lets see that trip meter with 1000 miles on it registering 23+ mpg.

We'll patiently wait.
I pointed out the actual mpg to you after 400+ more miles on the odometer. I'm not here to debate with you but rather show what a difference speed, terrain, and no wind can do. I also don't claim that 1000 mile range is achievable as conditions would certainly change. The 300.00 optional 50 gallon fuel tank is a bargain.

Well... we can agree that the 50 gal tank is sweet indeed.

Skinny pedal application rate.

I have 1,000 miles on mine since the last oil change and the trip OD for that says 17 MPG and that includes a couple short rows of my tractor locally. Even if the lie-o-meter is off by .7 mpg it’s still 16.3 mpg.

I worked with a plus 80 year old man and he left stop signs with his foot on the floor and didn’t let up until 80 mph, so what kinda old guy. ;)
I drive gently. But I do use cruise on the interstate, generally between 70-72 mph. The truck gets the mileage I expect but not what a few of these guys do.

I’ve got just over 80k miles on my 2500.

One other thing is I have a set of very highway oriented tires on my truck and it’s stock.

The 22’ Hemi I HAD had the 3.73’s in it and the rolling terrain I live in would only activate the MDS going downhill. On the interstate it would not stay in 8th gear at 70 mph. It would down shift on nearly every hill between my house and town. The MDS wouldn’t engage on the 400 mile trip on flat ground and no wind. I traded it for my 22’ Cummins and I don’t have to apologize for being in the way on any terrain or fuel pump.
I’m not saying everybody needs one. I actually probably could get by without my diesel but I really like it.

My 6.4 with 4.10 gears activates MDS / ECO mode all the way down to 55 mph. I don’t ever shut off the MDS unless it’s in tow haul mode for heavier tows.
