New tailgate handle maybe?Damn. Now I have to trade in the 21.
My truck is in for service this morning and as I wandered the lot, this ‘22 3500 DRW caught my attention with its led lights in the tailgate handle.
And now i gotta find out if it can be retrofitted to my 2019 cause that would be very handy with the trailers at night... Should probably summon Tech King @Jimmy07 . I've already got a message out to Benny @allmoparparts.com to see price & availability of this fancy new tailgate handle. ________________________________________________________________Yep, new 2022 feature. Handy for hooking up in the dark.
Nope. It comes unpainted. Only way to get a painted handle is to order a new truck!!!! Only kidding. I love my truck even without the light in the handle and I never hook up at night anyway. LOLNew tailgate handle maybe?
But just in case, you should probably buy a new truck. Just hold on to the one you have until delivery.Nope. It comes unpainted. Only way to get a painted handle is to order a new truck!!!! Only kidding. I love my truck even without the light in the handle and I never hook up at night anyway. LOL
Unpainted or textured plastic(as shown in picture by OP)?So apparently the part number for the Unpainted LED Surround View Tailgate handle is 68578934AA.
Nice I just ordered one unpainted aka textured black. I'll post pictures when I get it.
I spoke to Jimmy briefly last night cause I've got a new uconnect 5 module headed my way for testing, and I mentioned this tailgate handle, he said:I have part number 68578934AA in my cart since I need to order a tailgate anyway. Now we just need the wiring pinout info to add this... @Jimmy07 can you help?
Wired to an aux switch would be an idea if the correct pin can’t be activated with AlphaOBDIt would be easy to run wiring to and power from existing bed lighting. Then, it could be used from the cargo light button on the dash as needed. Or, if preferred, could be powered off of the reverse light circuit if you only plan on using it for hitching.
(Assuming you can’t add it in with factory provisions)
Yea if I can't do it the factory way I'll tap into the bed lightsIt would be easy to run wiring to and power from existing bed lighting.
