Limited 3500 CCLB HO SRW

Looks like mine might be grouped up with some Laramies, maybe.

The main issue with the Chip shortage are the trucks getting blind spot monitoring, They are still producing and selling the diesel trucks without a certain sensor for the emissions equipment intact or working. CARB has agreed to allow the sales of trucks then when the parts become available you are required to get the parts installed. It sounds like CA trucks will have something attached to their registration that once parts are available the State of CA will know and will not reregister your truck until the parts are installed. (I posted a copy of the letter a few pages back in this thread)

The chip shortage as most know is due to the pandemic causing people to work from home/stay home. So they set up their home offices flat screens/laptops and other electronic equipment.....this is where all the chips went....well except when the kids/adult kids stayed home they bought Xboxes and other video games that used chips in record numbers.....so that's where all the chips went. Ford is about to start producing their own inhouse chips so they don't have to rely on someone else to provide them. When this happens it should ease some of the high auto demand for chips. If it would work....I would buy an xbox and send it to Ram so they could pull the chip out and use it in my truck that I ordered for the blind spot monitoring......yeah I know....I'm only dreaming!
So...
If the exhaust particulate filter sensor is missing, will you have an error message? What if I never get the sensor?

It sounds like the software has been set from the factory to ignore the lack of this sensor.

I'm wondering what effect it will have, and if that effect is a positive effect on the performance of the truck?

Strange thing is that my dealer hasn't charged the deposit yet, and after asking them to do so twice they still haven't.

No error message, therefore, the software will not know its missing and will run as normal. According to RAM no effect positive or negative and the trucks driver won't be able to tell a difference. Once its installed at the dealer the computer will be re-flashed so it knows the sensor is there and will run much cleaner to the environment.
