2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Regarding HO engine, what are using the truck for? If your not towing anything big, I would say no. The 2500 payload capacity doesn’t need the HO imho. If you just want the king of the hill engine, then it’s worth it for bragging rights :) I had the HO in both my 2500 and 3500. If I did it again, I would have only got the HO in my 3500 DRW where I could really take advantage of it.

2500 doesn’t come and hasn’t come with an HO motor

Yeah thanks NordicNews, just thinking that. Just had to look that up again. Only 3500 :) I am on my third Ram in two years, I cant remember what options I ordered anymore on each truck. Started at 2500, then to 3500 DRW, and now on to 5500. Unfortunately, back to SO engine only on 5500. :(

Looking at ordering a 2022 2500. So no 10 speed Allison? The HO engine is another $3,000 over the standard Cummins? Is it worth it?
Shipping time guess?
Is $500 off sticker and a $1,000 down the going thing?

Well if you're ok with having to likely order out of state Sandi @ Mark Dodge will get you about 12% off of MSRap or Bud Clary but not sure how much off they are but know they deal too

I'm disappointed that no Allison this year but that's OK - the Aisin is plenty strong for now and the shift spacing is fine for towing heavy 5ths. But boy, rolling up to a stop sign (with or without a trailer) and then accelerating without a dead stop to 1st gear can be an "unforgiving" experience.

Reading the above, it doesn't look like trans next year either so I might pull the trigger on a '22 to cash in on the temp high trade-ins and pick up a few more options.

BTW, it seems like lots of different reporting about the Cummins HO spec for '22. Is it actually 420hp and 1,075 ft/lbs torque or still 400/1000 as printed occasionally??

2021 trucks are 1075lb-ft so I very much doubt they're go backwards. There's a lot of really bad reporting on the interwebs.

I have a 2017 Mega Limited, I only pull a 27’ Airstream 4 or 5 times a year but like the fact that I can get a little more power under the hood without using a programmer like I had in my 06’. I’m in Tennessee, I guess I’ll visit a dealer and see where they start….I currently have rear air suspension but I think I’m going to get the off-road kit on the new truck, the RAS has really been to no advantage to me and takes away the ease of a lift kit if I decide to add one. I have read the off-road kit actually adds 1” of lift over stock.

I’ll have to say my current truck has been in for quite a few problems. My rear camera and harness has been replace 4 times and is currently giving me fits again. With the new system and 5 (?) cameras I’m a little scared.

That's always my worry with all of the technology in new cars/ trucks. I ordered my 22 with the 12" screen and sure hope it remains problem free

Has anyone seen a hydro blue 2500 laramie with the mountain brown and frost beige interior? The dealer is questioning my choice. I'm not a fan of black interior. Not sure how it will look. Thanks.

I've seen that interior on a Patriot blue and it looked great! The hydro blue may be a touch on the lighter side, tough call

I got the black/ light frost beige with the black pearl paint, tired of black or gray interiors

It comes with an original Yugoslavia SKS with bayonet and a 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 hollow point.

Unless you live in New York then the bayonet has to be removed......the governor here is scared of them
