2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

I’m always curious if I should of got air suspension on my 3500 as people say it has a softer ride. How much softer is the real question for me. My ride isn’t horrible but it’s definitely not my 1500 ha.
It is a bit of a softer ride but not that much, and after all it is a 1 ton truck.Keep in mind it’s not air bags added to the suspension,it’s air bags in place of some of your springs. So if one of your bags or something in your system leaks your kinda hosed.By adding an aftermarket air bag system and not giving up some of your springs it gives you redundancy in the event of an air bag leak.

Please explain how "youre kinda hosed" if an air bag leaks.

My truck runs around with 0 psi in the bags unloaded. That coupled with the softer OEM leaf spring pack makes for a 1 ton dually that rides fantastic compared to the non OEM air bag trucks.

Also, with my 5'er attached, there would be no issue towing the trailer with an air bag leaking. While not ideal, it would be perfectly safe and the truck would do just fine until the bag was repaired.

The easy adjustability of an aftermarket air bag system is definitely desirable, but the same effect can be achieved with the OEM set up via adjustable rods.

Safe but not ideal ”Until the bag is repaired“Exactly you have no redundancy .With the aftermarket system you are way better off,and you didn’t have to give up any of your springs to get it.My 2021 Dually rides just fine especially with my Host Cascade loaded on it.I bought my Dually to do what it was built to do,and that’s what it does.I don't use it as a daily driver.

I just ordered a 2022 Ram 2500 Tradesman today. I'm so excited. Anyone know what kind of wait to expect.

Truck finally arrived at dealer on 22 June.
I picked her up on Saturday, 26 June.
I’m not a patient person when it comes to buying but I’m glad I ordered and got exactly what I wanted. Happy, happy, happy.

I'd agree on the 3/4 tons because the air spring REPLACES the coil spring..... however the redundancy is the leaf pack on the 3500's, so youre not correct in that case. ......"aftermarket you are way better off" is a subjective comment you have no basis in making unless youve owned both--which I have.

It's not even debatable that the OEM air 1 tons ride much better than the non-OEM air trucks. Is what it is. I dont daily drive mine either, but i easily could and be very comfortable. It rides great.

So my truck is home. Its two days old and already has 1800 miles  In case anyone is wondering, its 1220 miles from Birmingham, AL to Pelham, NH if you want to crank that out in one day. Got home at 1AM this morning. Truck road like a dream, with the exception of Rt 20 in Alabama, which is hands down the worst road I've ever driven on in my life. My kidneys hurt after that one.

I was so hyper focused on just getting in the truck and driving that I never stopped to find the gas pedal adjustment switch (pedals were all the way back towards the driver). I felt everywhere for it while driving, but didnt find it. I suffered through and just located it now.

The 6.4 with the 4:10 gears has great acceleration! In a flash it will be at 90+ when I go to pass someone.

You should also find the tire stems and drop the PSI. They're probably still @90PSI.

I did that sitting at the gas station within 2 miles of picking it up. They were in the 70-80 range. I dropped them to about 55 and set off the TPMS alerts. I had to guess on the pressure because the gauge I threw in my bag when I left for the airport only went to 50PSI, so I was guessing off that because it would max where about 60 was.

Total noob question here, how do you know/set your bags to 0 psi?

I've received my sulastic shackles and having XO Fab out of Enumclaw will install for me on 7/28.

The bags can be pinched and pushed in by hand making it obvious that there is 0 or near 0 psi in them. This is the factory, unloaded setting on my particular truck. With your truck idling, in park, walk to the back and lean under the rear wheel well on both the driver and passenger side to validate both bags "feel" like they are inflated/deflated equally. Some folks have reported that the driver's side air bag is "firmer" than the passenger side prompting them to adjust the sensor that is bolted to the frame on that driver's side.

Tell me about those shackles and what made you buy them?

Definitely let us know any difference on the sulastic shackle results. And how much is XO Fab charging for install?

This is the most cryptic process. No one seems to be able to tell you anything. I can track a $20 pizza from the time I place an order every step of the way until it reaches my door, but an $80,000 truck…. You can’t handle the truth!!
So evidently, my truck is now in the Port of Baltimore...Saltillo to Altamira to Baltimore (so far). I live in Knoxville, TN. Initial ETA was 6/24, then 7/2, and now 7/10. Oh well, another month without a truck payment.

The 373,s should be ok unless you pull huge weights then you should have got a 3500 but from your sig you didn,t, you could add wireless air system like Ride rite thats what I have used in all my trucks , more control, the factory air suspension works better in the 2500 than the 3500 more adjustability, I would make the dealer install everything that you ordered, why would they even build your truck and omit options you ordered , they are going to put the same options on the 2022,s tell the dealer to take it off the train , send it back to Mexico and tell them to build what you ordered, its a hundred thousand dollar truck i have no idea why they would not put the parts on your order there not going to save them for a 2022 sounds like BS to me Sorry just my opinion
The Chevy rental I’m using now has 3.73 gears and does a good job with our trailer so I feel a lot better about it now. I don’t see us upgrading beyond our current 8300 dry(10000 lb wet) trailer at this point.

I agree with the parts deletions I fought the dealer on it and they essentially said “if you’re not happy you can cancel your order”. Still working on the details to trade for a properly built 2022 later this year if I’m not happy with what is arriving. Sucks that my truck has been held up due to dealer quotas and limits but theoretically could arrive by end of next week (just shy of 6 months).

just checked the new promotions and it’s basically garbage. You’d think Ram or the dealers would throw people a bit of a bone but they know they have us by the short and curly’s

Does it appear that a gauge or gauges could be added to monitor the air pressure in the bags? Does each bag have it's own adjuster or just one adjuster inflating both bags equally?

So I have a 2021 75th Anniversary Power Wagon on order. It has a vin and is in D1 status, however the ship date keeps getting kicked back. I have followed up with the dealer and RAM chat multiple times and they have been very little help. I am trying to decide if this truck will ever be built, I am starting to think no as they are preparing to ramp up 2022 production. Anyone have any advice?

At this point, the only thing you can do is wait it out and see what happens.

As you have a VIN associated to your order and according to some threads on this forum, the build will probably go but, pay close attention to the build sheet for all your options when the truck is complete.

Production of the 2022 begins as of July 27 but, the factory may need some time to “retool”. That said and if the factory needs approximately a week, your build still has approximately 2 weeks to have it complete.

Best to Luck and Hope you PW - 75 is a reality

On June 14th, the truck I ordered on Jan 28th, got changed over to a 2022. Yesterday, I got a email from my dealer that my truck is now being built as a 2021 and received my VIN number. Happy I am getting a truck but a little disappointed I will be getting a 2021 when the Americans are getting 2022’s.

Strange!

This happened to me as well.
Hopefully the VIN will populate in a few days with the URL.

I have a case opened with FCA to document my journey and indicated how orders are “left in the rafters” in hopes of someone at FCA with “power” to be able to see this phenomenon.

Opening a case does nothing. They don't give you any information other than when it changes status. I figured they'd tell me some type of information......nothing. They just repeated exactly what Ram chat told me.

I still haven't heard anything on mine that has been "gathering parts" since the beginning of May. They can't even tell me what parts are holding up the build
