2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Snow Chief group is actually a pretty decent deal for all that it includes. I ordered that package too and saved about $400
Can you help me understand this? I thought the same thing, but here are the numbers at least from ramtrucks.com:

Protection Gp (skid plate) - $95
220 amp alt - $0 (included in a diesel)
Instrument AUX switches - $155
Clearance lights - $95
Off Road tires - $295
Total = $640

Snow Chief (which has all those 5 features) = $455

This is for a Laramie 3500 Mega so maybe the package price is different on other trims. In any case I was going Snow Chief for a long time then realized I have absolutely no desire to keep the tires RAM puts on these trucks so why pay the extra for the A/T over the A/S tire and save a few bucks ($100) getting the items ala carte. Maybe if I take the A/T tires I can sell them for more...

What are folks seeing in the way of incentives this month? All I see on RAM's website is an interest rate incentive for the 3500s. PenFed $1000 still out there? TrueCar doing $500 still? Has anyone asked their order dealer to "lock in" current incentives as discussed in the beginning post of the 2021 ordering thread?

Hey Doug. Where did you order from? I’m looking to place an order in the Austin area and would appreciate a recommendation as I’m new to the are. Thanks!
Hi @love2build. I've decided to keep waiting after a rash of unexpected expenses and doing a lot of maintenance on my 06, it makes sense to hang on to it a while longer. BUT if I were to order, I'd be ordering from Sandi at Mark Dodge given their discount. The only local dealer I checked out was Covert Austin back in Feb. Then they would do invoice minus half of the holdback on a custom order. When I went in a couple weeks ago for a test drive, the salesman said anything on the lot was MSRP, or higher, but he might be able to do invoice on a 2022 order.

If you're wanting to buy locally, I suggest get an official price quote from Sandi and take it around to local dealers to see if you can get anyone to match or at least get close. Otherwise, Mark Dodge offers free delivery within 250miles of Lake Charles so they could meet you near Brenham, TX or maybe even Giddings, TX.

Good luck!

I figured I’ll be the first to post my new order here. Last Friday (05/14) I placed an order for a 2022 Ram 2500 Longhorn 4x4 6’4” bed through Don Franklin CDJR in Somerset, KY. I was quoted invoice + $500 - rebates. My build sheet is attached below.

However, I have not received a confirmation email yet. I assume that is a function of Ram itself and I will get that as soon as the order is actually accepted by them? This is my first custom order so I’m not sure what to expect. Is anyone else in the same situation?
I placed my order 5/17/21. Received confirmation that it is in D status on 5/28. Cannot find out any more information on whether they have started the build. I wish I knew.

I order a 1500 Laramie.

In the Snow Chief group, the 220a alternator is an additional add on so now you will have dual alternators ($295 if you were to add a 2nd alt by itself). It also adds that anti slip rear diff option as well, which is $495 normally but on your 3500 it may be standard? When I had ordered it with the Limited package it was still worth the add on as I wanted all of the other stuff anyway. From what I was told though, being that I have a Limited with Night Edition that my tires would not be changed to an A/T but I do not know for sure

I ordered my '22 3500 the morning of May 7. I received my VIN on May 17. All accepted '22 builds are going to be D status until they actually have the parts in hand and starting building the trucks. The status will change at that point. The factory is scheduled to start building trucks on July 26 (there are a few screen shots earlier in the thread that show that). But, we still don't know if they will have all the parts in hand to produce the trucks. Fingers crossed that they can actually start building when the factory re-opens!!!! I still don't expect my delivery until Sept - Oct even if mine gets built in July.

Thank you! After reading this thread I called Sandy this morning and emailed her my spec. Can’t wait!

Funny how the Snow Chief group in the DJ uses stock front springs and the plow group has heavy duty springs, ordered 6-14-21,going to be a long wait while I rack up extra miles on my lease.

While there are certainly some parts that are out of stock and limited, the '22 HD trucks appear, at least right now, to be 98% identical to the '21. In typical years, the plant needs to install new equipment or reconfigure the old equipment to accommodate the model year changes. None of that really applies this year. So I'm hopefully they can get up and running long before July 26, but it's anybody's guess at this point.

Agree. I was thinking more along the lines of electronics / chips that might not still be available when the factory opens. Hope that all gets sorted out soon.

It won’t move to D1 status until production for 22s start in another month.
customer orders are priority then store allocations. Just got off the phone with my sales manager.

To everyone that ordered a 2022 HD and things get rolling with production....please keep us posted on your order status. I'm going to order a 2022 HD 3500 DRW in late Summer or early Fall....maybe sooner if I can talk my wife into it.....LOL..... I'm very curious to see how fast things are built and how fast they ship! I wish everyone luck those who ordered and to those future orders!

Yes 3500's only come with leaf (springs) standard and the 2500's have the rear coils. However, you can get as an option with the 3500 rear air-suspension in addition to the standard rear leaf springs. On the 2500's when you go to the rear air-suspension you lose the coil and only have the rear air-suspension (air springs).

I am only stating this cause I prefer to have the leaf springs over the coils with pulling loads. :). I wasn't aware of this until ordering this truck. A friend has a 2500 with coils pulling a 30ft trailer and they don't work worth a dam. He had to install the airbags were as I would rather have factory leaf's and not have to deal with airbags.
