AlfaOBD

Hi Jimmy,
2021 2500 Big Horn, no AUX switches. Changes made as per your post and this is what I got. On the enter PIN screen I just right arrowed through it, no PIN entered. HTH.
Rgds,
Colin
Thanks for doing that, Colin. That confirms one thing for the 1500 owners.

Has anyone played with AlfaOBD on their 2019 HD's yet? I'm curious if anything is accessible to "change" and if it just works. There is lots of different info out there on other forums, but i haven't found anything in regards to the 2019's.

EDIT: AlfaOBD does work, here is the what is needed to use it on 2019 and newer HD Rams:
- The Android app from google play store, or windows download from AlfaOBD.com. (Windows version strongly recommended) (AlfaOBD is Windows/Android only)
- A Bluetooth interface such as OBDLink MX+ or OBDLink LX (cheaper than the MX+ if you don't need iOS support or use on Ford or GM (MX+ comes with a choice))
- And a bypass harness to bypass the security gateway module so changes can be made- https://www.kaodtech.com/product-page/security-module-bypass
So I've done some searching and cannot find this: what exactly does alfaOBD do? What can I modify? Thanks

yea man when you go order there isn’t an option for 19+ 2500s. Just the 19+ 1500. I was under the impression the cable is different between the two vehicles.

From the KaodTech website...
"Does this work with 1500, 2500, 3500, etc?
There are two different versions. One for the 1500s, and one for 2500s and up."

Interesting, the option for the 2019+ 2500 bypass cable is there but it won't let you select it. Maybe it is out of stock?

I just ordered a new 5 button fob from my dealer for my bighorn so that i can have the tailgate release function. I'm pretty sure i seen somewhere here or on another site how to program a new fobik using Alphaobd but i searched and cant seem to find the procedure to program a new fob to my truck. Also is there an option in alpha to activate the tailgate release or is that active once the new fob is programmed? I already have the 4 digit pin from my dealer so i believe i should be set.

You cannot code a FOBIK on the newer trucks with AlfaOBD. It requires an active connection to WiTech due to rolling codes. PIN does nothing for you, it's not even needed to "reset RF Hub" on the new trucks because you don't need to reset the RF hub to make changes. If a PIN was needed, you could also use the PIN puller app to get it yourself.

I don't believe there's anything to code for tailgate release. Only if you were adding remote start.

Oh ok i guess that's why i couldn't find the info i was after. Ok so basically alfa isn't needed, just have to get the dealer to program my new fobik to my truck. Sounds easy enough. Thanks

Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find the setting for LED fog lights? I swapped my halogen fogs for the LED but they do not come on with the switch. I know theres settings to be changed but I cant find them. Ive tried the search but only get where people are just adding fog lights.

You have to swap the pins on both light connections. The polarity is reversed for the LED fog lights.

CBC Features: LED Front Fog Lamps Present.
Like mentioned above, you need to swap the wires at the fog light connectors.
