2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Anyone pre order from a dealer on the east coast yet, Florida north? Having no luck locally or even in surrounding states. I'm either being told they can't/won't order a '22 yet or they are only doing it for MSRP. Can't even find a Ram dealer near me that does the Costco program either.

I've done trips further than Mark Dodge a handful of times in the past couple years for work. But if there is anything closer, any savings could end up being a wash when it comes to adding up a flight and wages lost from work.
Just FYI, you could have the truck delivered also. May be worth while depending on how far away you are, believe $0.80-1.00 per mile is average cost.

I am seeing a lot of variation from various dealers in the Houston and surrounding areas. One we visited two days ago close to our house was not all that helpful on either options or discounts. We are driving 1.5 hours today to look at a few current models at a dealer that is willing to do more and at least give some discounts. Another got back with me and just said 3500's are hard to come by. Sandi at Mark Dodge has already given me a build for '22, a price for a similar '21 and a discounted price estimate based on the '21 price. My guess is that Mark Dodge will be hard to be beat since we can order exactly what we want and get a hefty discount (just over 11%) plus any rebates/incentives at the time.

Also, for those who read about the Rambox above. Ram will not allow adding the Rambox to a dually, so 5th wheel prep or not, we can't add those.
What builds are y’all seeing these 11-12% off MSRP from Mark Dodge? I had Sandi work up a 2022 Laramie 3500 MC 6.7, pretty loaded, and the discount was 5.5% based on 2021 pricing. I got a quote of 8% off MSRP in January from a local dealer (invoice minus half of holdback) when I was considering ordering a 2021. I thought Mark Dodge would beat that but I never followed up with them as things on my end changed. Maybe they would have had larger discount in January. I need to go back to the local dealer now and check if they’ll do same discount on a 2022.

That 5.5% is off the invoice price, not MSRP. Invoice is already about 6% under MSRP. I ordered a loaded Laramie. About 79k MSRP, Mark Dodge is 69k.

Don’t forget that is no incentives too, add in your true car/pen fed/bonus cash that you have when the car is delivered and any potential incentives.

At the time they were doing around 5% under invoice. I think they were at 1% under invoice when I talked to them about 2 weeks ago. Let them know that guys on the forum recommended them, and see if they’re still doing their 1-2% under invoice on builds.

Did you also get similar pricing as others? Roughly 11-12% off MSRP?

Hoping to get something ordered this week.
That’s the plan, they can’t give me a hard price, as they don’t have one but my price for the 21’ was that way and they assured me the same pricing would be in place.

Hmmm. What cab is yours? Maybe mega cabs aren’t discounted as much as crew cabs?

2021 config:
MSRP $81,210
Invoice $75,932
Mark Dodge $75,241

Sandi said their discounts are usually 9-11.5% hence why I’m wondering why mine’s half that.

Strange. That does look like it’s 1% under invoice. That EP number has been roughly what we’ve been getting.

EP would be the Employee Pricing. FFP would be the Friends and Family pricing.

Local dealer told me EP is the lowest they're allowed to sell for and requires some special approval from FCA. Obviously blowing smoke.

I am about to finalize an order with Mark Dodge, however, I am wondering if there is a way to determine payload based on configurations. I am seeing very different numbers for the same vehicle when using the ramtrucks site to view a vehicle that is currently available vs. the Ram look up my vehicle site vs. some dealer's websites. Even the specs of nearly similarly configured 3500s on the ramtrucks site show payloads that very widely. For example, one Laramie 3500 Limited Longhorn Mega Cab Dually with HO engine shows a payload of 3990 pounds on ramtrucks but 5340 pounds on look up my vehicle. Another similar Laramie 3500 Limited Longhorn Mega Cab Dually with the standard diesel shows payload of 5,520 pounds on ramtrucks and 5,340 on look up my vehicle. After we looked at a Mega Cab today, my wife and daughters are set on that cab, so I need to make sure I can max payload to tow a large 5th wheel. The other towing/weight specs are all fine.

I’m reading and was told that you can’t order the 4.10 gearing on a 2500 SRW? Is that true?

I took delivery of my truck last week. Mega Cab Laramie level A, dual rear wheels, HO/Aisin, 12" screen, 5th bed prep, spray in liner, Air suspension, 4.10s.

Payload is 5284 lbs.

That payload would work for us. We would like Laramie Level B and the sunroof (not my idea, but I've got to keep the wife and kids happy). From what I've seen by comparing payloads, I'm guessing that the 4.10 ratio adds about a 1,000 pounds of payload. Why did you decide to go with the HO? I'm still debating that one. It does add to max towing, but doesn't seem to affect max payload.

Gearing does nothing for payload, two unrelated things. It does allow for a higher tow rating though, assuming you don't first run out of payload.
