2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Pretty sure that it's part of the Safety Group B package
I have not seen it in the list of items on Safety Group B either online or at the dealers. With the online configurator it is way down at the bottom as a separate item, but when I click it (Blind Spot with Tag Trailer and Cross Path Detection), it removes Laramie Level B equipment, Safety Group B, Bed Utility Group, and Towing technology Group! That is for '21 of course. From earlier reports it sounds like they removed this feature from Safety Package B due to the chip shortage.

Dealers are able to add BSM to orders. It’s listed on the few build sheets others have posted that included the packages Ram’s configurator drops if you try to add it yourself to a build. Dealers were able to do this with 2021 orders as well.

I talked to Aidyn the sales rep guy that worked under Phillip and he put me in touch with Danny, [email protected]
It is interesting the conversation about a preferred salesman/dealership to work with regardless of were they maybe located. Does anyone have a preferred dealership and salesman from Texas to the East Coast. I have had conversations with Ram owners from the VA/NC line where I live, and they don't recommend the local dealerships. Some Ram owners are driving 4 to 7 hours just to avoid local dealerships. One even noted the the dealerships in Northern Virginia (D.C. area) gave them a better deal. I have family in Texas so I am not opposed to the drive/visit.

Thanks,
Randy

Mark Dodge in Lake Charles Louisiana is who a lot of folks have gone to for custom orders. You can email [email protected] and will probably get put into contact with Sandi.

Any chance you could post the details from the safety group? Or even all three pages? I'm planning to get a Laramie Night Edition w/ the safety group and would love to confirm what's in each package!

This is awesome. Thanks for helping others out! Anyway an admin can add this to the first post?

With the info above, I plan to reach out to Mark Dodge about ordering a '22. Next question: I see that there was mention of ordering a '22 with the rambox cargo management system and 5th wheel prep, but from what I've seen, RAM doesn't allow this (at least for '21). Anyone have any additional info on this? The ramboxes look quite useful, so any advice on going without the factory 5th wheel prep and installing an aftermarket 5th wheel hitch. We won't need the hitch until 2-3 years from now.

Thinking those are still the '21 pages, considering it says UC4 instead of UC5

Has anyone ordered a 2022 in Florida? I'm on the east coast near Stuart, north of West Palm Beach. Any dealerships you would recommend?

Unless something has changed, RAM has never allowed 5th wheel prep with Rambox. The trailer pinbox has a significant chance of contacting the bedside with the narrower bed.

Adding an aftermarket 5th wheel mount is possible, but needs to be carefully planned to avoid clearance issues. I think there may be a thread or two here for Rambox 5th wheel setup but you'll have to do your own searching on this one.

I don’t know if Ram will allow this on the 22’s or not. From my reading, like Brutal said, you have to be careful. I have seen people on this forum and others that have done it, I believe using a Reese Sidewinder attachment to facilitate it. That attachment is like an extra $2k on top of the other costs (Rambox, 5th/goose puck system, the hitch itself, and whatever else). So, I am pretty sure it’s doable, but you’re going to spend a fair amount more $$ and time/effort researching to get it done. Sorry I don’t have links to those other threads I mentioned, I read them a few months ago when I was wondering the same question as you.

Ordered mine today... only thing else I wanted that they said it wouldn't let them select is the Trailer Camera Wiring. A '21 could have be ordered this way with the wiring but it's not allowing it with the '22.
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the new 360 Trailer view option... maybe now the trailer camera wiring will only come with a higher package option?

I see you ordered in California. What kind of deal did you get if you don’t mind.

Curious about this too, as someone who will also be ordering from CA in the near future! That drive from LA back home for us is a bit far ... hoping there’s something closer and comparable.

I honestly wasn't going to pound the pavement for the ultimate price. I'll be getting this one for invoice. I'm sure I could have done better... but I'm happy and like my dealer.
Invoice is respectable right now too. It’s tough to get any deals at all, so about 6% off MSRP is still amazing.

Yes, there seems to be conflicting options in the Laramie level b group. A UC4 8.4 radio with navigation shouldn’t exist on the 2022’s (if the article about UC5 is correct), and tailgate ajar warning doesn’t exist on 2019-2021 HD Rams, so that would be new for 2022.

It was amazing how few SoCal dealers even tried to do anything. One was "no discount", couple others were "2022 pricing isn't out, so we can't help you until we get pricing". Only got automated replies from 2 others.
Thankfully, the dealer I really wanted to use was the most helpful.

I am seeing a lot of variation from various dealers in the Houston and surrounding areas. One we visited two days ago close to our house was not all that helpful on either options or discounts. We are driving 1.5 hours today to look at a few current models at a dealer that is willing to do more and at least give some discounts. Another got back with me and just said 3500's are hard to come by. Sandi at Mark Dodge has already given me a build for '22, a price for a similar '21 and a discounted price estimate based on the '21 price. My guess is that Mark Dodge will be hard to be beat since we can order exactly what we want and get a hefty discount (just over 11%) plus any rebates/incentives at the time.

Also, for those who read about the Rambox above. Ram will not allow adding the Rambox to a dually, so 5th wheel prep or not, we can't add those.

Anyone pre order from a dealer on the east coast yet, Florida north? Having no luck locally or even in surrounding states. I'm either being told they can't/won't order a '22 yet or they are only doing it for MSRP. Can't even find a Ram dealer near me that does the Costco program either.

I've done trips further than Mark Dodge a handful of times in the past couple years for work. But if there is anything closer, any savings could end up being a wash when it comes to adding up a flight and wages lost from work.
