Currently have a limited 3500 SRW mega with harman kardon and I'm looking, at a limited dually 3500 mega but it does not have the limited level 1 package therefore no harman kardon audio. It has every other option I need and want. Has anyone had both audio systems? I really love the stereo in my current truck and don't want a significant downgrade. Thanks

This isn't the most apples to apples, but I have the HK system in my Ram and the Alpine system in my 2019 Jeep, and the HK system is worlds better, which is saying something because the system in the Jeep is honestly very good (for my tastes)

I recently bought my 2021 Limited MC DRW 3500 with the HK stereo. I checked out one with the Alpine and it is simply NO comparison. I have a pretty baddass YouTube Playlist and I like to crank the tunes.

So if you like to turn the dial to 13, find a HK system. There were several at Kernersville in NC. Ask for Lauren or Mary in internet sales... they will get you hooked up!

Enjoy the PlayList!!!

I had an 18 with the alpine and now a 21 with the hk.. the hk is a lil cleaner sound but the alpine had better low end base... if you need better sound go aftermarket..both were loud enough for my ears..

I have a 3500 on order with the HK and from what I have read in several places I will miss the low end bass of the Power Wagon.

I can tell you that once I bypassed ANC and freed up the speakers to play nothing but music the stereo sounded a hell of a lot better, but this is just the base 6 speaker system.

ANC? Forgive my tired ole brain.

Active noise cancelling, you can bypass the module with a harness. I barely noticed any difference in road noise, but it really woke my speakers up ditching it.

Nice playlist.. Ludacris seemed out of place at first...but i seen it start to evolve.

Where did you find this harness ? I would be interested in exploring this as I feel my 21 Laramie with the Alpine is not great a system.. To be honest it sounds muted/muffled, base is almost non-existent to me even with it maxed on the EQ.. My 07 vette sounds worlds better, Pretty disappointing that a 14 year newer vehicle sounds worse ..

All yes, forgot about that.

Part # and source for harness?

The one garrison mentioned above is the one to go with. I got the idatalink version, it works fine, but I think the pac audio would be slightly better if you wanted to splice into the wiring down the road!

Silly thought here. I had a 2017 1500, traded it in for a 2020 2500 with the HK system. Sub was doa from day one. I went back to the dealer, he thought I was crazy. I put a truck off the lot right next to my brand new truck, we set everything the same, the one on the lot was much better. We found out the sub was not working. Now the system is crazy good with my music, however can't seem to get good reception with the Sirius. Already replaced the antenna, didn't help.

And how hard is it to install? I am too lazy to look. Last cup of coffee should help.

Super easy, the anc module is either under the driver seat, or tucked up by your e-brake pedal, unclip a couple harnesses and clip in the bypass cable to the spots that mate and you’re done.
