Price negotiated from MSRP

I’m looking at trading my Tundra in on a new 2500. Love my truck but towing even a small camper limits how i can load for trips. Actually got to drive a 2500 Cummins night edition and thought it had awesome power and rode nice, expected it to ride much rougher than my Tundra but it did not. Unfortunately there are very few trucks on lots in the San Antonio area and dealers seem to not want to come of MSRP or just barely come off. It seems like a bad time to buy right now. I’m hoping by the end of this year this chip shortage is fixed and there will be a bunch of 21’s on the lot that need moved for the 22’s.
If you are going to trade it in, see what they will offer first.
Then try selling it to Carvana.
I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan 5.0 carvana offered me 23,700. Retail is about 25K so not far off. Dealer offered me 18K.

I wouldn't count on that. They stopped taking orders for 2021s to start the ramp up for 2022s. Just a guess, but I'd bet the on-lot inventory stays thin for a while. That's why so many people are ordering with long waits, and used car prices are skyrocketing.
That’s what i was afraid of. Might be better to hold off and just order a 22. Trying to hold my water but it’s difficult lol.

Hope we get some news on the ‘22s soon so those in waiting can know to keep waiting or to go hunt for ‘21s on a lot.

Only thing I’ve read is the 360 degree camera is new. Fingers crossed for UConnect 5 but with the chip shortage that could delay that if they can’t get newer/faster chips made. UConnect 4 likely on older chip technology and may be easier to get in this environment.

If you have a Carmax nearby try them as well. For my 2019 Ram 1500 the dealer offered me $42,200, Carvana offered me $39k, and Carmax offered me $46,600. Easiest decision of my life.

Same. Dealers were around 29k for a 2015 Cummins Big Horn. Car Max was 33.

Maybe I'll drive by there and see. But I've heard bad things about the carmax here in town.
You can do it all online. Pretty easy process. If they can’t get you a price online, then they ask you to drive in. My sister and her husband sold their van to Carmax, they said it was smooth.

Vroom offered me $35,200 for a 2020 Traverse with 8,000 miles that I bought last June new for $32k. Crazy times.

Anyone have problems getting Phillip Olson @ Bud clary to return calls or pick up phone?

I stopped by Tuesday and talked to him. He’s got people calling him all day ontop of what he’s doing at the dealership. He’s got a lot of orders in and a lot of those people asking about updates. I try not to bug him too much but when needing a question answered I’ll call him or the dealer and ask for him.

I priced my old truck on Vroom just now. Wish I had heard of them earlier. They would have given me $48,500. $2k more than Carmax :rolleyes::rolleyes:
