Price negotiated from MSRP

Just talked to a dealer that said they can still process orders and was willing to match so I am thinking about pulling the trigger. Crazy times.
I can't tell if you want to be pissed off, or are just pretending you're going to actually buy a truck. You're gonna have to **** or get off the pot buddy, it sounds like time is of the essence.

That said, at this point I'd probably wait the month or so to get a MY2022.

Lol, well your right. It's been a tough decision as I have a 2020 with 3200 miles sitting in my driveway that has the CP4 build. Normally, it would never make sense to upgrade this quickly but due to insanely high trade values and potential long term repair risk it is doable. If I can order tomorrow I will get it done. Just pissed the dealer kept brushing me off all day Saturday.

Had two dealers tell me 2021 orders are shut down (one Friday, one Saturday). One in Southern California, one in Northern California. Then Saturday evening another dealer in Southern California told me he could still order 2021’s and the reason others couldn’t was that Ram cracked down on dealers who were putting in “sold orders” that weren’t actually sold because they wanted to get more inventory. So not sure if it’s true, but should know this week as. I’m trying to order a 75A Power Wagon.

I was told by my dealer that last year at some point Ram stopped or slowed down auditing the sold orders...but then restarted as dealers were doing exactly what you said, tons of sold orders just to build lot inventory. But my dealer said that auditing is back and thus 90%ish of trucks with a name on them must go to that name or they get hit with allotment cuts. Take it for what it is but that's what our dealer said.

Where are you trying to order from? SOCAL or NORCAL?

I live in NorCal, just happened to find a truck in SoCal that I wanted (but is already sold, apparently). I’d fly as far as Chicago for the right truck, but if I’m ordering I may as well do it close by (assuming price is comparable).

I ended up ordering from Phillip at bud Clery in auburn Washington. Well worth the drive home in my opinion based off what they’ll do price wise up there on these orders. If I were you I’d give them a call

Definitely will. How does sales tax get handled in these situations (CA buyer buying from WA dealership)?

Dealer collects sales tax at time of sale and remits to California. You are given temporary WA plates and then have to smog, weigh , and then take to DMV for a visual inspection then you’ll register.

I paid California tax and license fees at DMV after purchasing truck from out of state. Had to have smog certified before paperwork could be processed. Wasted $12 getting weighed, weight was on MSO/title. I believe if you are financing the MSO/title goes to lender, so having truck weighed is required.

Washington sales tax are higher than Calif. So be aware of that. Not sure how they will handle that.

Try contacting Auburn Ram in Auburn, Calif. Just outside of Sac. I was working a deal with them before I found a dealer local who was willing to help me order one.

Home state registration gets the tax. Dealer can collect but some don’t.

Has anyone ordered a new truck recently in the Indiana/Kentucky & surrounding area? Wondering what dealers are the best (service/price)?

Msrp on 3500 drw was $86,605. I got $7529 off msrp. He told me mid negotiations on my trade prior to me depositing it should had been 4100 off but he was gonna honor his price. Sam Leman Ram in Bloomington Illinois, I’ll make the three hours drive just for the service.

I’m looking at trading my Tundra in on a new 2500. Love my truck but towing even a small camper limits how i can load for trips. Actually got to drive a 2500 Cummins night edition and thought it had awesome power and rode nice, expected it to ride much rougher than my Tundra but it did not. Unfortunately there are very few trucks on lots in the San Antonio area and dealers seem to not want to come of MSRP or just barely come off. It seems like a bad time to buy right now. I’m hoping by the end of this year this chip shortage is fixed and there will be a bunch of 21’s on the lot that need moved for the 22’s.

I wouldn't count on that. They stopped taking orders for 2021s to start the ramp up for 2022s. Just a guess, but I'd bet the on-lot inventory stays thin for a while. That's why so many people are ordering with long waits, and used car prices are skyrocketing.
