I had a Tundra on order for 5 weeks and my salesman got zero answers as to when it would even go into production, so it isn't just RAM. I gave up and went to RAM instead, but not sure if that is helping either, hahaha.
What happens to the folks that pay $8k over MSRP now, and then production catches up some months from now, the supply catches the demand, and the value of the vehicle declines exponentially? I say $8k because I saw a truck last week that was identical to the one I ordered with one additional, small adder going for $8k more than I am paying. Yikes. Think about trying to sell or trade it in a few years and basically having to pay the depreciation plus the overage on the sticker price. You could be in the $15k - $20k range in only 2-3 years.
The reality of our world today is if you got the truck on order prior to this ridiculous price hike, even though it is taking too long to get built, you can see some positives about the situation. That is, unless you are riding a bicycle or the bus to work. If mine does not arrive in the next 14 weeks, I will be in that situation myself.
My buddy bought a new diesel 2500 Laramie about 10 months ago for $65k and decided to sell it for $75k last week. It was on Craigslist for 2 hours before it sold. Lol, what is wrong with people? It is like panic buying before a hurricane arrives or the TP shortage debacle of 2020.
