So it appears he never “handled” it. This really burns me up.

I’ll be walking in with my financing in place through USAA and I’ll be willing to bet there will be games with the sale price since I’m not choosing their financing.
Very possible.

Truck is great though!

dont think so. The price was never an issue. They had the form I signed and that was the price. The rebate game and financing was the problem.

I'm not trying to defend the dealership hrre, but its also not fair to be mad that they can't get you the rate they guessed on.

I mean, I agree it sucks they tell you they can get X or Y, and then don't, but its also not their call really.

Again, nothing personal here... but if your credit sucks or whatever, and the banks see you as a higher risk, you're not going to get the best rates currently available.

That's not really on the dealer.

If you're in good standing and can easily find better rates, the banks are well aware of this. It's not a profitable business model to give people such bad rates that they instantly refi. They want you on the loan for the life of the loan... thats why banks happily refi loans all the time.

The not accepting of the rebates and such, however, is full blown nonsense.

my experience with the financing department in the past 1.5 years buying 2 cars was if I told them I can get X rate from my own lender, they then beat the number by a few tenths of a point. The dealers usually have the ability with their lenders to do whatever it takes to beat a rate within reason if you have good credit. To tell someone that you can give them a good rate, then hit them with a 4.3% rate like happened to bigwalnuthoney is ********, and I can only assume its the dealership playing games to try and get as much on the back end from the loan as possible from the bank. I'd refi as soon as I get home so they dont get squat if I were him after that one.

All of this is helping me make my decision to have all my paperwork done before I board a plane to Louisiana when my truck comes in. They will deliver within 250 miles for free, so that will save me 3-4 hours drive time, and several hours at the dealership processing papers.

Yeah my credit rating was definitely not the issue. They claimed it was bc I was an out of state buyer. Never heard that one before.

My experience has actually been exactly the same as yours. But, there is a major difference in having an approval and them beating it, and casually asking what rates are and then being shocked that you don't qualify or whatever.

Again, I'm not specially calling anyone out as I won't pretend to know anyone's specific situation. I'm just pointing out that, for example, when you look at any auto loan site they list their best rates, not necessarily the rates that you will qualify for. Emailing a dealer querying current auto rates is very similar.

Ordered mine last Monday. Fingers crossed it won't get caught in constraint. Hate to wait until the fall to get the truck.

Makes sense and I agree... Ive bought more new cars than I can count (all in SoCal) so you can imagine the types of games ive seen played. I may be a bit jaded.

Bigwalnuthoney had a 817 FICO... it's absurd they got him 4.xx % on his deal.

That's nonsense too.. tons of my "best rate" loans have actually come from other states lol. Seems BC finance department is full of it.

@mcarey and I will both find out in the next 2-3 weeks! I can assure you i'll be completely transparent and report back exactly my experience.

Received an email today from US Customer Care that trucks estimated delivery to dealer is week of 05/24.

Where are you seeing that rebate/rate?
I am on Vancouver Island BC Canada. Looks like the current deals are only $3000 rebate and 3.49% for 96 months. When I ordered and signed my deal it was $5000 rebate and 2.99% for 96 months. Then the following month they were offering another $1250. So if my salesman was true to his word, I should get the best offer from time of order, which would be $6250 and 2.99%. Only time will tell. Got word today that it is passing through Bensenville Illinois this morning. I’m thinking it’s till a week or two before it makes it out west here

Where are these deals though? On the Ram website or what? I just checked current May incentives and all they offer for the HD trucks is 0% for 36 months but no cash back offers. Do they have different incentives for Canada?

So beyond frustrated with the whole purchasing ordeal and my dealership in general! 16 weeks since I ordered my Limited Megacab and still in D status and because my sales guy was laid off it is like pulling teeth to get any updates at all from anyone at the dealership, including sales managers. The lack of any kind of customer service at all from FCA or the dealership is ridiculous. It seems in Canada we have no recourse but to sit here and take it, the only response I get is "well we can refund your deposit and cancel your order". They really have us by the short and curly's as used trucks are now going for as much (or more) than I paid for my dream truck and lesser equipped trucks that are sparingly available are going for full MSRP.

I totally understand the supply chain issues going on, I deal with it in my line of work as well, however how can Ram be so completely void of any basic level customer service at all??? Both my brothers bought trucks within a week of me buying my Ram. One bought a F250 and the other a Honda Ridgeline (yuk) and it is completely night and day in the service, communication and experience overall. Sorry for rant

Ive signed up on the Ram website like 3 times but have never received anything form them whatsoever. Im a legacy customer too, having bought a brand new 2016 2500 cummins truck. Im not sure what's going on to be honest.

I had to phone Stellantis support at the beginning of my order process to request a mailed brochure (3/24). The party mentioned they didn't know what I was requesting and kept telling me to visit a dealership. She created an incident/ticket and gave me the reference. 4 weeks later I received a printed 1 sheet brochure. :)

I too just received an e-mail 5/4 with the $1,000 Bonus Cash Allowance!

Is there a Rebates / Incentives sticky that I've overlooked?

Here is my list checking for Incentives / Rebates:
  • $1,000 Bonus Cash Allowance - E-mail expires 6/30/2021
  • $500 Perks At Work Employee Car Buying Service
  • $500 Beneplace
  • $500 Truck Conquest Bonus? Anyone know how to go about getting this or does the dealer enter it?
