2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

I've never had the dealer not beat my rate, but I'm assuming the banks have it all covered. Regardless, my last chat with the dealer we decided to start aligning everything next Friday, with the assumption the truck will arrive the Friday after.

I believe this is all to avoid any in person chaos.

My plan in WA is to show up, sign, and walk. Everything will be 100% finalized before I get on the plane.
This was my plan also. Wish I would have done credit before hand. Would have been a much better experience.

Unfortunately you can’t do that at Bud clary as they don’t accept cash. Keep that in mind as I brought cash for my down payment. Luckily I also brought a check just in case. Ridiculous they don’t take American currency as an American business.
No way I'd fly with the cash I'm putting down. Just an unnecessary risk, in my book. And kind of annoying for both parties depending on the total. Checks all day for me.

Ideally I'd toss it on credit, just to get the points, but most places tack on an unfortunate fee.

Cash in pocket during flight. No problems. And how is cash annoying? It is a legitimate currency with no issues of bouncing. Plus I had just sold 2 cars and had the cash. I don’t have a bank locally to me so depositing cash is a pain.

I offered to put it on credit card but they wanted to charge 3%. Told them no. They also offered to take me to a bank and pay money to get a money order. Also told them no I was not going to pay money to give them money.

Personally, I don't want to walk around with a couple hundred hundred-dollar bills on me. That's pretty annoying to carry, lol, and quite a risk in my book. I get it if it's only a few grand though, even moreso if you've got cash on hand. Nearly all my money is digital these days.

Plus my check won't bounce. It's tied to the same account the down-payment (and all my other cash) lives in.

Good point, but for me at least, the concern is will they not honor the quoted sale price if you dont take their financing? That's in the back of my mind.
Well for me at my dealer i was getting a $2k discount for financing through them and not paying off the loan for at least 6 months with a 3.79% rate 72 months. I was actually approved at 2.29% with my credit union but my sales manager was upfront from the beginning and said it will be 1-1.5% higher then your actual approved rate and that's how we save you the $2000. Another words like most banks and credit union they give the dealer a kickback for the financing and hope the customer wont pay it off before 72 or 84 months so the bank makes plenty of interest and the dealer is able to pass the savings on to you. In my case it will be paid off in 6 months so neither one will make much interest off me and i still get a hell of a savings on the truck.

Placed my order on 5/4, dealer told me as of yesterday that the order had not been accepted by Ram. When is the 2022 order banks opening up? The other question is: other than exterior cosmetic refreshing and Uconnect 5 is there anything major happening worth waiting for?

TFLtruck.com mentioned a new 360 deg camera system coming on the '22s - https://tfltruck.com/2021/03/2022-r...tting-a-new-trailer-360-camera-view-and-more/
I too am hoping for UConnect 5 in the ‘22s.

After several hours of wasted time I got the $1k off. But they didn’t do the truecar coupon or the first responder discount. At that point I was just sick of being there. Plus they ha e me a terrible interest rate on the truck.
Setting up the deal with Phil was awesome and super easy. When I arrived, Phil wasn’t there and I dealt with one of his minions. It took 5 hours to complete the process. Seems excessive when the price has already been agreed to. Then when with the “finance guy” I had to keep correcting his numbers as his were wrong several times. Also, their prices for the “extras” were ridiculous and their interest rate sucked balls.
While the price was good, bring your own financing or cash. Don’t bother with theirs.
Phil stated he could get me the “best rate on the planet.” What a joke.
Just curious what "extras" they try to offer you so I know what to prepare for.

Thank you, all. Appreciate all the helpful info gained in this forum over the wait. I picked mine up today and all was as expected. Definitely worth the wait. Ordered 1/25. Came with two key fobs, and everything I ordered, including BSM. A special shout out to Jasper Jeep for being so easy to work with and drama free.

Yea, I had a dealer try something similar. Told him the the truck comes with tracking from the factory. And my credit union included GAP with the loan, no extra cost.

Extended warranty. Gap insurance. Theft protection. Expel paint protection. And a few others.
Yes that is funny as soon as I walk into the finance office I tell them don't bother trying to sell me extra crap because I'm only in here to sign paperwork on my loan. They used to still try the first couple vehicle' s but now they know me well enough not to even bother !

When buying the wife’s minivan, they offered a 10 year warranty and GAP for $10 a month (6 year loan). Told them that sounded super cheap, didn’t make sense. Got to the final page, payment went up $50 per month. Their “creative math” was using the $4,000 rebate PLUS $10 a month to pay for it all. They just conveniently leave out the “using your $4,000 rebate to pay for it” part.
