Side steps/Nerf bars, etc.

Totally agree on the third step. I also agree a wheel to wheel looks better if you can lose that third step. I chose cab length because I don’t want people leaning over the bed of my truck or climbing over the bed side, coupled with the fact that the mounts are on the cab so the bed section would be unsupported
Especially when ya plan to have a cap or bed cover on.. Never thought that portion being unsupported !! totally agree though.. Hopefully someone starts making them.. Truck is on order so I have some time LOL

Does anyone know about fitting up the Power Wagon 75th anniversary "rock rails with side-step capability" steps? Assuming since they are cab length they should also fit a Cummins mega cab?
I like how they seem to be compact and not stick out a long way.

I contacted my dealer but they were less than helpful getting part numbers or pricing.

Bringing this back up. Hoping there was more information now that it is a package option (it appears so) on the Power Wagons.

I like the simple, clean, smaller look.

Same here. Looking for the part number also.

Looks like those work

I opted for the .188" DOM. With (2) people and (2) hydraulic jacks it wasn't to bad of an install. Takes some time re running the wiring above the frame rails. Took me a whole day to install em with some help.

Cely1932, Stavo,
Did either of you get any information from RBP or AMP as to did they fix the problem? And if so, what was the fix?

I have a 2021 PW on order and am looking to install the retractable steps once I take delivery.

I've installed the AMP steps on my wife's '04 Chevy Silverado and on my '01 Ford F250. So I have some experience in doing the install. Plus I hard wired mine in instead of doing the OBD port connection. Simple and easy.

For those running power steps, rbp or amp.
Can you please take some measurements for me.
Looking for distance from the ground to the step surface when they are deployed. Also distance from step surface to floor inside cab.
Please include type of step, truck and tire height.
I'm trying to decide on steps for my new PW with 35 inch tires
Thanks

Took this a while back for someone else who'd requested it. This is for the Amp (regular, not XL).

Don't currently have from ground to step, but my setup is different anyway, so wouldn't be as relevant.

Thanks.
So that begs a question. I thought the PW sat level. But with the lift you have, that would say the PW has the typical 2" nose drop.

And I assume you did the lift to fit the 37's?

So basically you have a 1" lift on the suspension and 2" of lift from the tires and are at 16" at the step.

I have a response from anotehr member who has stock setup and AMP steps but is at 14.5" from the ground.

So I'm going with 35's which would be a 1" lift so I'm looking at somewhere around 14" to 15" from the ground.

I'll be taking mine offroad a lot so dont want stuff hanging down. Broke a few of those types of steps off in the past.
I'm going with power steps to help the wife get in. I have them on my 2 trucks I have now.

Thanks.

Not really. I did the lift because I felt it was too short stock. My previous 4th gen was lifted 5.5" and my 1500 before that was lifted 6". I was planning bigger, but compromised with the wife. I'd have been going with 37s whether I left it stock height or a larger lift.

But no, the front was lifted 3" from stock (at least when I measured at the time I lifted it) plus the additional height of the bigger tires (a little under 2").

But mine isn't a PW, it is a CCLB Hemi.

And since so many trucks sit slightly differently height-wise regardless of all trim levels matching, that was why I focused on the measurement from door sill to step, as that will match for every truck, then the remaining distance to the ground is just measuring what's left.

Ahh, got it. Thanks for clarifying.

The other numbers came from a PW owner. So I'm looking more like 15 1/2" when I put on the 35's.

Yea, I built the wife's Silverado 1500 4X4 extended cab short bed for her. 9" total lift riding on 37's. Its a daily driven show truck. But is **** for trying to load stuff in the bed.
I have a F250 CCSB 4x4. It has a 2 1/2" level lift and a 1/2" lift in back to truly make it level. It's running on 33's. It's my "work" truck for how I play.

Both have Amp power steps to make it easier to get into.

Ordered a 21 PW and will be installing 35's and power steps as it will become our "family" car and my DD so trying to figure out step height to make sure it will work and I don't need the 3" extended steps. . Getting rid of my F250 and the current family car. Going back to a 2 truck only family. But then again, it's just the Missus and I.

Dealer told me today the OEM black wheel to wheel steps are back ordered. Anyone see these in stock anywhere or seen them for sale anywhere?

With my setup (Thuren 3" front / 1" rear + 37s) ground to stepping surface when extended is 15 7/8 where front passengers step and 16" where rear passengers step.
What Thuren package did you go with. How did you decide Carli vs Thuren. I'm trying to make my mind up now
