Hello new guy here. I just ordered a new 2021 Ram 3500 Mega cab truck from my local dealer. He just sent over the build sheet. I requested that I receive the 50 gallon option tank. Now I hear that option is not available on the Mega Cab. Is this correct? Thank You in advanced.

I heard long bed only too. I was told it deletes your spare tire. Can anyone confirm that?

Good to know. That would qualify for a dually too right? Thinking about a dually, so I was wondering.
Yes. I looked at a couple of duallies with that tank and the spare was there. I ended up with the single rear wheel version.

I had a dually for a rental last week from Enterprise and I really liked it. It towed great. I just worry that after I buy it, I'll regret it. Its slightly overkill for me, but the blacked out night edition looks sick IMO.

Probably don’t want to put in a bigger tank because it would reduce the payload and towing capacity ratings.

Its the short beds that are an issue - not the long Bed. I think he meant that on a shorted with 50 gallon they would have to ommit the spare.... I know the aftermarket tanks are deeper vs long like the OEM tank.

I'd remove my spare for the extra fuel. I am on Toyo 35's now and the spare really does me no good at this point anyway. However, I don't want to be the guinea pig to see if the OEM 50 will work on a shortbed gasser.

When I bought my Titan 50 gallon in bed tan i asked if they were going to make tank for gas HD trucks. They told me not at this time since the restriction on gas AUX tanks makes it cost prohibitive to make them. They would have to tied in the EVAP systems on the trucks and that means far to involved for anyone to make them. The tank pressures are also an issue - however- they said they cant stop someone from buying one of their AUX Diesel tanks and putting whatever fuel they wanted it in and or modifying the tank etc....

I find Titan's reasons lacking....

You are comparing apples and oranges. The Tundra and Ford tanks are replacing the stock tanks...(OEM fuel tank replaced with a midship tank)

Iam specifically talking about in bed AUX tanks.

Not sure why you are changing the conversation from replacement tanks to in-bed tanks, but sure....
No idea what makes Titan special... I can think of 3 places off the top of my head where I can get an in-bed gasoline tank.

I have no idea why you care.

Yes RDS makes them...put they are generally not pump fed like transferflow and Titan or they are filler tanks not directly connected to the filler Tube....also gravity fed gasoline tanks are illegal under the DOT code.

$2000 is steep but still interested to hear what they have to say if they get back to you.
