50 gallon tank question.

I have no idea why you care.

Yes RDS makes them...put they are generally not pump fed like transferflow and Titan or they are filler tanks not directly connected to the filler Tube....also gravity fed gasoline tanks are illegal under the DOT code.

Because we are talking about the main tank and not aux tanks.

Any tank can be fitted with a universal low output fuel pump at the top so it can be pumped from the top of the aux tank (per DOT) and into the main tank.
No one (other than you) said anything about a gravity feed.

$2000 is steep but still interested to hear what they have to say if they get back to you.

Yep... pricey as hell but doesn't seem anyone else is interested.
An Aux tank with a top mounted fuel pump is an option, but then you loose some bed space... not the end of world certainly, but once you get all that rigged up cost is likely not too dissimilar.

That is a good point. I'd just really like to find something closer to $1k or less out the door if possible.

Hello new guy here. I just ordered a new 2021 Ram 3500 Mega cab truck from my local dealer. He just sent over the build sheet. I requested that I receive the 50 gallon option tank. Now I hear that option is not available on the Mega Cab. Is this correct? Thank You in advanced.
I installed the Titan 50 gallon replacement tank in my 3500 mega cab. Best upgrade I made on this truck. The extra range is really welcome.

I considered that route - but for the money and only getting 20 more gallons which maybe translates to another 180- 200 miles towing, it was much more cost effective for me to get the in bed 50 gallon tank($1200 + $500 install). The install on the in bed tanks is pretty straight forward and I could have probably saved that cost.

Well excuse me...I did not know you were the keeper of the topic in this thread... its amazing how you like to hear yourself talk even on a online forum.

MOPAR 50 gallon tank (if you can find it and have a long bed) is only a little over $400...

Understood... I'm trying to see if anyone has been able to order the 50 gallon tank at all.
I was up under my truck and there seems to be room for a larger tank... how much larger is the question.

I keep encouraging folks to go here and recommend an aftermarket replacement tank for our trucks... https://www.transferflow.com/suggestions

When I bought my Titan 50 gallon in bed tan i asked if they were going to make tank for gas HD trucks. They told me not at this time since the restriction on gas AUX tanks makes it cost prohibitive to make them. They would have to tied in the EVAP systems on the trucks and that means far to involved for anyone to make them. The tank pressures are also an issue - however- they said they cant stop someone from buying one of their AUX Diesel tanks and putting whatever fuel they wanted it in and or modifying the tank etc....
I had one on my 2500hd gasser. It was great. Only issues were filler neck size needed to be changed from smaller gas to larger diesel with expander, filling it up would splash out when it got completely full, and it would leak for a few miles if filled to the brim. It would only throw random evap canister codes that would occasionally turn on the CEL (once every year). That was fixed by clearing the code. From my limited understanding, these issues could've been easily fixed by supplying different hoses (filler neck and vent) and a redesigned evap canister. My evap canister was just a plastic box with some foam in it.

I'm planning on doing it again once I get my new 6.4 in. The benefits 100% make it worth dealing with little issues. Everyone that looked at the truck when I sold it loved the thing. It was definitely a selling point
