2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

Mine is sitting in Detroit also , from what my dealer says it has to go to Conner lot from the Budd lot , which is across the street then he can call a transport to pick it up , it's only 65 miles from my house right now.
Last report I got from the dealer is that is is still on the railcar just south of Chicago. Getting really close to Detroit. Railcars are unloaded right next to the Ambassador Bridge. Hopefully will see some more movement next week. ETA to the dealership has not changed. Once it hits Detroit it is only about 5 miles from my house. Not that it does any good. LOL

Just really strange that some VINs show the recall and some don't. One would think they use the same relays on all the trucks with the Cummins. According to the notice it appears that all VINs under the recall are in the system. Who knows. I will keep checking every day.

The recall has nothing to do with relays, it has to do with fire possibility. Has anyone's shown on the recall list yet? it seems to be diesels only on the recall. Everyone that has responded so far has said no recall

The recall states intake air heater relay could have a short that could result in a fire.Screenshot_20210319-084416_Facebook.jpg

2021 2500 Limited Mega Cab ordered on Tuesday, 3/16. Dealer confirmed today (3/20) it is in D1 status with 4/13 ship date.

That would put it on dealer lot end of April and 2-4 weeks earlier than I was expecting. We will see if it holds true... I was targeting mid to end of May to take advantage of any Memorial Day incentives that might be in place. Time to start digging through the forum to see what coupons I can qualify for. LOL

I put in a similar order the day after you, instead mine was a Longhorn. I believe mine is still in D status as I was told there is no ship date yet. I will be curious to see then if it goes to D1 in a couple days due to the similar ordering timeframe.

Here is my updated status:

3500 Laramie crew cab 4x4 w/ 6.4L Hemi. Lv1 trim. Towing technology group. 5th wheel/gooseneck prep. Bed utility group. It does have the blind spot listed on the window sticker.

Ordered 1/22
Build sheet 3/9
Window sticker 3/20

It's moving along. Since I now have a window sticker I looked up my towing capability by VIN # and here are the results:

Max payload: 4,025
Max towing: 14,525

Very excited about this. Going to look at a new 5th wheel tomorrow.

that’s huge!
Yeah, curious what payload mine will have. I’ve looked up similar builds to get an idea, but interested to see what it comes in at. 2500 mega with Cummins had terrible payload, but enough for bumper pull trailer I’ll eventually get.

Well I checked with FCA and my truck is not in the recall list. That’s good.
It was scheduled to deliver either last week or next week.
I received the email today informing me it’s been moved. Now it’s 4/1-4/15 delivery.
I’m now preparing for the possible long wait.

I purposely configured mine to give me the highest possible payload. We drive our truck (when not towing) a bunch of really short trips (think 3 miles at a time) which is not good for diesel (the main reason I went for gas).

Most trucks (especially diesel) you run out of payload before you run out of max towing. In my configuration, I'll run out of max towing before I run out of payload. My current Nissan truck I have to carefully calculate payload. I wanted to get away from that and be able to pack whatever I want.

As soon as they issue a window sticker sticker you can look up your towing specs by VIN.

Working in the automotive field, this “could” be a human error. Sometimes people have way too much fun on a weekend and are suffering on a Monday. Or the opposite, expecting a huge amount of fun on the weekend and are distracted on a Friday. I can’t say it never happens. And I can say is been there done that

Looking for some advise from folks that have factory order their truck. I am from Alberta, Canada (Calgary area) and ordered a 2021 Ram 2500 Bighorn 6.4L on Feb 27.

In my order it indicates "equipment group B" which is different to what I built using the Ram website build and price tool - there it was called "level 2 equipment group". The dealer assured me they are the same but this morning I checked the Ram site again and now there are TWO different package options showing up, IE BOTH "equipment group B" OR "level 2 equipment group". 1 is $3595 and the other $3995 CAD. The options list is similar but not the same, EG group B doesn't list blind spot and cross path which I wanted.

So, now I don't know exactly what I am getting which is hugely frustrating and one of the main reasons I factory ordered, IE to get EXACTLY the build I wanted. I have attached the build spec that my dealer sent to me....

Any advice or tips from those who have ordered? Did you end up getting exactly what you ordered? What happens if my truck shows up and its not exact per my spec? Could I get a deposit refund? This is one of those times where I would rather deal with Ram direct and not have to trust what my dealer is telling me....
I'd go online and get your build sheet. Mine was 11 pages and listed absolutely everything, right down the rotary shifter that I wasn't expecting. Everything else was exactly what I ordered.
