Recall thing is mixed bag. We all want our truck to be “right” but some of us have waited months, and many of us want the truck for Summer. This isn‘t the first time I’ve read here about Ram not having parts ready to fix a known issue. I don’t know the car world but only remember one recall in all my years with other brands (Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, Tesla, Lexus, etc). That one recall was on the 911 and it was fixed immediately. The dealer had the part before Porsche sent me a letter.
some of you might point out that “luxury” brands have more margin to be able to manage these things, but I’d point out these dang trucks are $90k. If you think you can get $90k for your product, you damn well better act like a $90k car manufacturer (AND dealer).
hope I haven’t made a mistake. I‘ve heard stories of guys disappointed by their experience & support when you buy and expensive car from a “budget friendly” company. A viper from a Dodge dealer. A GTR from Nissan. Etc. you spend $100k+ and these dealers are set up to deliver a $20k experience and have C level talent. My Lexus was only $40k but the experience was top notch. Heck the loaners were nicer than my car when in service. Meanwhile Ford didn’t even have loaners and pointed me to a dirty run down car rental place (on MY dime). What a stark difference.
anyway, my point is Ram better be ready to give the same white glove concierge level of service if they want this price point...
