5.11 Tactical Flex Radio Pouch, I like it. I also run it on a get home bag. The latch is pretty neat making it easy to get the radio out quickly, but also holds when running.

Working on a better mount system, quick fist maybe, the bolt catch hits the panel and releases.

That pouch looks like it would fit my radios with larger batt packs well, but the smaller (stock) ones wouldn't work in it.

Really I just need one or two decent ones and the rest I'll probably just go cheap cheap amazon.

I don't have the large battery on mine yet, there is plenty of room to accommodate it though.
 
Finally got everything installed today. Went ahead and put an external speaker in also...the stock speaker could be heard but it was so small it sounded like it was coming out of a tin can so I did it more for quality than volume. Antenna is a magnet mount in the center of the cab.

Drilled a hole in the back of the cubby hole that I ran the wires and coax through. Then I ran the wires straight to the battery through the firewall behind the steering wheel.
 
Can anyone with a center floor console tell me how wide the side pocket opening is on the driver side (I assume its the same on either side). Im still waiting on my truck to arrive and in my last truck(GMC) i have just slid my 2-way into that side pocket next to my leg. Just wondering if it will fit in the Rams or if i got to come up with another solution.

Much to small to receive anything other than possibly maps or loose papers.
 
Here you go. Measured from my Limited driver side.

There's a bump in that's just over 2" wide for the first 2" in the front, then it narrows to 1" all the way back.

I just realized I didn't think to measure the depth, I can grab that in a bit.

If you need more detailed measurements, let me know what you're looking for.

Thank you for measuring that for me! If it was 2” wide for the first 7-8” that would be perfect but it looks like I’ll have to come up with another location.
 
For those of you that have installed the gmrs radios what did you do for the antenna? Midland has a deal right now for their one mounted radio that you get 2 handhelds free so I bought that last night. Really not a fan of using a magnet on the roof of my brand new truck but I'm not aware of another way.

I used the one mine came with it is small and ddi not scratch at all. I put some xpel clear tape where the antenna cable might rub is all.

I don't have experience with the gmrs but my dual band works descent off my fender mount. But that high mount is where it's at for sure. But I didn't want magnet on my roof of (new) truck.

Nevermind, I found it on their website.

It's tempting, but I want the model that has the screen on the mic, and it looks like that one isn't part of the promo.
