Ram's Holding Some Late November to Early December (Possibly More) Orders Due to Quality Issue (threads merged)

A rail strike that occurred months ago should not effect builds made months after the strike is over. What makes no sense to me, is to have a backup of built vehicles at a vendor that obviously cannot keep up with the output of the assembly plant. I personally don’t want a 90k+ vehicle that has been left to sit outside in the weather for months sold to me as a “new” vehicle, expecting full price.
Obviously there is more to the story. Unless Ram is some how responsible for the production and delivery upheavals then they are the victims in this too. In that case they shouldn't have issues with putting that info out.

Maybe it's because they are consumed by their paranoia of saying the wrong thing so they protect themselves by not saying anything.

In the meantime, by saying nothing, or sending out “canned” electronic non-informing responses to real concerns a customer has they are losing said customers. I am currently looking into options of abandoning my order, and going to a competitor brand.

Probably a wise move. You will always have unsettled feelings for the truck and the first time you have an issue with it, and you will as it’s a Chrysler product it will bug the crap out of you and you will wish you never took possession of it. Sounds like you have a bad dealer so that will make it worse.

It's interesting to see the replies here and guess who has worked in manufacturing or supply chain and who has not.

Apparently it is a government mandated software issue. They need to program this to pop on your dash screen every time you stop to fill up.
At least its a change from the TPMS not communicating.

Could be a lot of things - from a customs concern coming into the US all the way to something mechanical. I would think that since RAM disclosed that the truck was being delayed / fixed, that they would disclose what the issue was. Hopefully RAM Cares jumps in on this. If it stays non-disclosed, I'd consider a re-order.
Did all the 2500s catch covid?

I finally got somewhat of an answer today as to why my truck has been in vendor purgatory for 30 days. Supplier issues, was told two weeks to resolve, then four weeks to ship. Will make my order 18 weeks total if it holds true.

Still cannot get an answer on mine. Nobody knows why it was sent to detroit to the 1500 plant. As far as I know it's still there. Wish they would just be transparent and let me know why it's there. Just dont like being lied to, exspecially when the truck cost 90k.

Here’s the latest email from “RamCares”...

Thank you for your response.

While I am not aware of any internal movements or locations of your order, I can verify I do show it is continuing to move en-route to your ordering dealership with a current prioritized delivery window reflected as 03/16/2021 - 03/22/2021.

As promised, I am continuing to work directly with our logistics teams to ensure prioritized delivery takes place as early as possible within this delivery window. I do hope to have additional updates to share with you soon.

I have set my next scheduled followup with you for your order or email responses for March 26th at the absolute latest, but will reach out to you further as soon as there are additional updates to share on your order.

Thank you for your loyalty and we’re proud to have you as a member of the Ram Truck Family!

Sincerely,

Jeff

The last ETA I got from the dealer was 3/13. Guess we’ll see.

Mine has been released from the factory in Detroit on Friday morning, hopefully see it this week

@Nsf10162 did you get a notice that specifically said it was released? How did you get it (online or dealer?)

I got this email this morning, form letter BS mostly I think but at least it gave me a date range.

For those comparing notes, I placed my order mid November:

Except for the dates, this is word-for-word the same letter I've received today and for the past two months.
