Ram's Holding Some Late November to Early December (Possibly More) Orders Due to Quality Issue (threads merged)

Not sure people know but this forum has a really nice feature. You can ignore someone and that way you don't see their posts. Makes perusing the forum much more enjoyable. All you have to do is hoover your mouse over the user's name and hit the ignore box.

Thats just the snowflake way of doing it lol

Maybe it's possessed like Christine, they are summoning a priest from Fiats Vatican location to perform an exorcism?
The self healing abilities would pretty cool for me.. I wouldn't have to be constantly worried about my CP4 grenading!

Same built day as mine... One thing yours, alfaRAMeo's, and my truck all have in common is the 6.4
Mine also has 4.10 gears, not sure if it has anything to do with that either. I just wanted to see if other people are having the same issue. I feel like I’m getting the runaround from the dealership. (I also ordered a fully loaded Rubicon Unlimited from them a couple years ago.) It was weird to hear my truck was in Centreville IL (about 4 hours from the dealership) for three weeks because they couldn’t get it on a hauler, and now they are telling me it’s in Texas. Seemed strange.

Well I am sensitive, and you did ruffle the feathers on my skirt!!

I wouldn't be surprised if some dealers never told their customers that their truck is being held for quality issues. When I first heard from my salesman at the end the January that there's a recall I freaked out and couldn't believe him. So I tried to verify with Ram and freaked out even more when they told me the truck was delivered to the dealer a while ago. Now I feel like I need to go back and thank the dealer for being completely open with me.

Hopefully we can get more people to chime in if they are seeing a similar situation, that way we may be able to find a common thread or demand an answer from Ram.

I saw in another thread that someone who ordered a 2500 Cummins a day before me got his truck on 2/8. Below is his timeline:
Build sheet Jan 11th
Window sticker Jan 13th
This makes me think that the recall really has something to do with the 6.4 powertrain.

My email from Ram Info Center today just says my truck is progressing through the shipping network, en route to the dealership. I emailed back asking why it went from IL to TX (I take delivery in IN) and if they have any info on the 2000 trucks that are being quality controlled. I doubt they will give me much info. Seems like in this situation the dealerships are more willing to say what’s going on.

Yeah, latest word is that RAM feels the 6.4L Hemi is too powerful for some customers and a few trucks are being held to flash the software making the MDS full time.
Thank you for bringing attention to the tread.

Yeah, this is part of why I felt like calling Ram out. Not telling the truth to their customers.

Long story short, I ordered a truck that was built by 1/9. It got to my local rail yard on 1/20. Soon after that, according to the dealer, Ram pulled the truck away because of an issue they won't disclose. The general sales manager told me that it's being fixed in a plant in Detroit and the words to them from Ram were that the issue WON'T need to be disclosed because it is being fixed internally. It is not an open recall. The latest news is that it could be returned to them by mid-March. The information in whatever system that Ram and the dealer use shows that the truck has been delivered to the dealer by 1/26 and that's either all Ram Customer Care can see or are allowed to tell me.

Now I'm not sure I want a truck with mystery issues that by the time it is estimated to be back to the dealer would have taken over 6 weeks to be remedied. The truck is a Tradesman with the Hemi.

Safe to say I'm really disappointed by the way Ram not being transparent with their custom order.

Could be all the crooked bed/cab alignments or the cab mounts issue that nearly everyone seems to be having.

when you factory order a truck from a dealer you always have the chance of something going wrong. In the future you might want to buy a truck off the lot instead

I have a 3500 CC SRW 6.7 being shipped right now. So far the dealer has been great with ETA updates. Truck arrived in Texas this past Monday am, and arrived in West Quincy MO this afternoon. Supposed to be in MN next Friday. 3/1.

I’ve ordered new vehicles before. Since there was only one 2500 6.4 Limited for sale in the country and it was nearly 2k miles away I don’t think I had much choice, thanks for your input though. I’ll be sure to ask your opinion next time.

You completely misunderstood my reply post. Things cant be 100% right all the time. what RAM is doing and you should be ok with is they are taking responsibility with your truck in which you haven't even paid for yet and making it right. You always have the right not to accept if it doesn't meet your standards.
I meant no disrespect to your post.
