Is $570 high for service

$800 CAD here for filters and oil at dealer
Where the hell did you get a quote like that? Im in northern Ontario i was quoted 490$+ tax which is 580$ at 5 different dealers....

I had not heard of them changing anything around the oil filter in 2019. If you are comparing your 2019 to a 2005 and 2001, how in the world do you think it is "better" when there is a crossmember that prevents direct access to the filter from below? My 2003 was a breeze compared to my 2015.
My 1997 is super easy 15 minutes done.

I recommend you buy the fumoto oil valve m18x1.5 thread for future services makes draining the oil so much cleaner...

I agree with you, @H3LZSN1P3R.

The Fumoto oil valve makes oil changes tolerable. It is part number FUMOTO-F104-A at the Geno's Garage store.

As others have said, get the oil filter plug which helps keep oil spillage to a minimum. It is part number LC57180 at Geno's Garage.

I also got the billet fuel filter cap which makes replacing the fuel filter under the hood more tolerable. It is part number LT-67FUELCAP at Geno's Garage.

<I am not affiliated with Geno's Garage in any way.>

I have a chain wrench that I've used for many things!

A regular filter wrench would be easier than trying to wrap the chain around the filter as there is only room for one hand... for the most part i can usually grab the filter and turn it off by hand

I was looking at the Fumoto Valve and wondered if you guys get the standard, short nipple or long nipple units?
Appears on the standard unit that you still have to remove a plug to drain the oil.

Also, are these drain valves safe to use in areas that would get a lot of snow and ice under the truck? I would
be worried about the lever getting knocked open and draining the oil.

The cap on the valve is a second fail safe but its almost impossible for that to happen i am in northern ontario and i use my truck for plowing never an issue with the valve

Interesting. Geno's doesn't show the protective cap. And other sites show is as an option.

I've found wearing some clean nitrile gloves to be a good way to spin off the filter by hand. Works for most vehicles except my old Tahoe that had the filter closed off by the oil pan, had to use a wrench for that. Luckily my Jeep and car have the filters top mounted in the engine bay.

For those changing fluid in the Aisin, Mobil 3309 is @ $5/qt at Speedway Motors. Way less than the same fluid relabeled as Mopar.
