Is $570 high for service

I was looking at the Fumoto Valve and wondered if you guys get the standard, short nipple or long nipple units?
Appears on the standard unit that you still have to remove a plug to drain the oil.

Also, are these drain valves safe to use in areas that would get a lot of snow and ice under the truck? I would
be worried about the lever getting knocked open and draining the oil.

I got a short nipple valve. There is no plug to remove, but there is an optional plastic safety clip that can be inserted to help insure the release valve isn't accidentally opened.

I don't worry about the lever getting knocked because it snaps into a groove. It is spring-loaded, so it would take a miracle to accidentally open the valve.

The valve is protected by the differential and the radius arms. If you landed the oil pan on top a rock or a stump, it could damage the valve.

Here is a picture of the valve. It is brass colored in the right-center of the photo.

I appreciate all the experience and help. I’ve always done my own oil changes on my vehicles. I don’t know why I was thinking this was going to be anything crazy hard, from what you all are saying it just can be a big mess if I’m not careful. But anyway you look at it I’m going to basically save like 300 bucks by doing myself. I have all the tools might as well start to build my confidence with this diesel!!
