Uconnect 12” not working

Hello everyone,

I just bought my Ram 3500 less than a week ago. I have had this happen 1-2x a day where I start my truck and no sound, no Bluetooth, no radio, no phone connected. I can not get anything to work. I checked and have the most recent Uconnect software 20.04.19. I read on other sites that this seems to be an issue and they had to get a whole new radio. I am beyond pissed just spent over 70k and have these issues.

Anybody else have issues or know of a fix, etc.
Well
I am the newest victim of this glitch. Brand new power wagon and other volume controls randomly don’t work. Had to completely restart truck to work. 600 miles on it and already having problems

Mine is doing better after they replaced the amp -- no more static, and no more loss of sound for about 2 weeks now, hoping that was it.

I have a 2020 Ram 3500 Longhorn and my 12 inch display will attempt to load Sirius and say it is loading but will not let my audio work if I change it to FM nothing, Android auto nothing. Shutting the truck off only seems to work if I let it sit for at least 5 or 10 minutes. Had it at dealer and of course they couldn't replicate and no codes found. This has happened to me once a day for the past three days the truck has 150 miles on it. Frustrating, any other suggestions folks have? I tried the soft reset method but it doesn't seem to do the trick.
As an update on my truck they could not figure out the cause at the dealer so they ordered a new radio control module per the field engineers reccomemdation. It is supposed to arrive in April.because they are changing the module design I guess. Maybe they realize there is an issue?

Bought a new 2020 2500 Laramie with Uconnect 12 3 weeks ago. Second day of ownership had it happen several times. Start up and all my presets are gone, XM loading, no audio from any source and volume stuck at 10. Happened for several days and I was already dreading having to deal with having this resolved. Then I programmed my driver 1 seat settings and it never happened again. I know, sounds crazy but that’s what saved me from a radio swap out that will probably not fix it.

Hi. What happens when we’ve been to the dealership several times - have had 2 software updates and 2 new radios put in and still having issues? You all act like it’s ok to spend that much money for a truck and have constant issues...

I would like to look into this further. Please send us a private message.

This is the same thing that’s happening to us. We have tons of videos and at first the dealership was all about being helpful but now nothing...

I have had may ram at the dealer 7 times and they cannot figure out what is causing it, it will always says "sirius xm loading please wait" once it says this it will never work. Phone will not work, radio nothing. If you turn off truck and let is reset it will usually work, but should not have to do that every 3rdd 4th time I start truck. They changed the screen, but still did not fix. Bought my 2020 ram 2500 in Dec. Dealer not sure what to do, any ideas

YEAH! Excited about the fix, but more excited about not always seeing this thread in my updates.

Any chance we can get vehicle health reports in that update?

I guess I am the latest victim of this issue. Picked my 2020 2500 Limited up on Saturday, 2/27/21 and everything was great. In the three days since, I've experienced this problem three times! Sirius loading (for an HOUR or more), no FM, no AM, no phone... it's maddening! I've pulled over and shut down... wait a minute, restart, SAME issue. After it sits for a while, it seems to be a 50/50 chance that it will work correctly.

Headed to the dealership tomorrow to see what they say. My luck, they probably won't be able to replicate it...

But, I'll show them this thread!

I’m experiencing the same problem. Does anyone (or Ram) have any suggestions on how to correct this issue? Firmware is showing up to date. Is replacing the unit the only remedy?

Same same

I had a 2020 Tradesman bought new last May. Loved it, until I found a 2020 2500 Limited which I fell in love with...900 miles on it.

I purchased it however it only came with one key fob. The dealer put me in touch with the previous owner who had traded his Raptor for it, kept it 3 weeks and traded it back for his Raptor.

I met up with the guy to get the key fob, first thing he says is, “Has the screen locked up on you yet?” I said, “No...what’s going on with that?”

Turns out that’s why he traded back for his Raptor was because of the screen.

I didn’t think much of it until today...day 3 of having this Limited with 1200 miles on it and now no sound, no FM, no Sirius and now the XM screen is blank.

Apparently I didn’t do good enough research on this trucks issues with the 12” screen. Beyond that I’m pissed that the Ram dealer didn’t tell me about it. I’m pretty pissed off right now.

New member and new victim lol. New 2020 2500 limited. Odometer read 44 miles on dealer lot and stereo didn't work then. Started working after a couple of start stops while kicking tires so to speak. Ended up purchasing it on 3/2721 Following thread for awhile hopefully help is on the way

One thing that I found that (so far) seems to have worked. I switch to “FM” before shutting the radio OFF and turn the ignition OFF. Mine appears to be an issue with the XM.
I’ve had no issues for over 1.5 weeks now...fingers crossed.

New member here. Noticed that my SXM presets will never save. But, they are there when you hit Favorites? Do I need to take this to the dealer for a software update? Or are we all waiting in limbo to hear from FCA?

I have a 2019 2500 Laramie longhorn. Fully loaded have the same problem no sound randomly. Talk to the dealership and they tell me they can't do anything if they can't replicate the problem this is serious issue that FCA needs to address recall and remedy.

I can sadly add my name to this list. I have a 2020 Ram Rebel, the radio worked flawlessly until 2 weeks ago(25,000) miles. Audio would not play while phone was plugged in USB ports, but would play through bluetooth. Took to my local dealer Thursday 06 May, returned to me 07 May. It worked all weekend even though the dealer said there was nothing wrong. Went out to the truck +/- 30 minutes ago and there is no volume, AM, FM, SXM, bluetooth or USB. I am letting it sit for a couple hours, hopefully it will work when I go back out.
