OEM Aux switches

I was designing a bracket behind the battery in the OEM Aux PDC location for the power module, then I was planning to put the keypad on my lower center console behind the transfer Case shifter(I installed the 4th Gen floor console so I have a bit more real estate to work with than the standard 5th Gen which is just carpet)
But...
...
..
.
I saw SDHQ released a power Module bracket that goes by the main PDC and laser cut replacement panel for under the stock light knob, so I ordered them instead.

How hard is it to put that floor console in? I would like that have that one in my 2020.

Right, I feel like Power Wagon owners would be even more likely than most other Ram owners to add auxiliary lights, air compressors, etc.

I’m not sure what people use them for on regular rams other than auxiliary lights or strobe/construction lights. Plows and spreaders typically have their own controllers.
Exact thoughts I have.

For a power wagon, no. There is no option for aux switches for the power wagon. On a truck that is equipped with aux switches, the aux PDC is part of the left dash harness. On a power wagon, the wiring for the axle lockers is contained in the left dash harness. Since only power wagons get axle lockers, but do not get aux switches, there is no such part number for a left dash harness that contains the aux PDC AND the wires for the axle lockers. If you are intent on adding the aux switches, it can be done. The switch bank swaps right in, and the BCM can be configured for them. Then you just build an aftermarket aux PDC relay box and add the wires from the 6 switches to each relay’s #86 pin.
If you are adamant about having the factory aux PDC, then your only option is to get a left dash harness part number from a non power wagon truck that has the aux switches, install it, and strip out the axle locker wires from your current left dash harness, and install them into the new harness.
Does it require you to alter the stock harness at all?

As far as what- IOW- does “which option” require alteration to which stock harness?

Using the oem switches and the Amazon pdc box. Do you have to alter the stock harness in order to make the buttons work?

Alter, as far as cut, tap, or splice into factory wiring- no. But, you do have to add the 6 missing aux switch wires to the connector that they stop being populated at. Most of this info is in the aux switches thread.

The aux switch panel will plug in and work with the stock harness. I have it in my truck now. When you push the aux buttons, the light for the switch even lights up. The only issue for me is can i make the pdc box work.

I was talking about the Power Wagon specifically. Sorry for not being clear. The Aux PDC is wired into the "left dash wiring" harness, the power wagon is unique with differential locker wiring in that harness. I think that's why the aux switches aren't offered on the PW, there would be so few harnesses made and it probably isn't cost effective.

I actually found a thread on Ram Forum, helped a lot.

The VSIM has zero switches. It's a module and wiring to tie into vehicle functions. For instance there is a "high beam on" output wire you could use to drive a relay to turn on aux lights like driving or fog lights when the high beams are on. That kind of thing. It is nothing like the aux switch/aux PDC option, which isn't an option on Power Wagons. I ordered the VSIM on our Power Wagon thinking it somehow worked like the Aux switch/aux PDC but it doesn't.

I'm still considering adding the aux switches, but to add the factory aux PDC you would have to order a "left dash wiring" harness with the PDC, strip the aux switch wiring and PDC out of it, then install in the vehicle. You would have to order an aux switch panel that matches your vehicle functions. I do have an aux switch panel on order.
