2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

Wow. I guess maybe my reading was pre-COVID. :/
I don't really think the trucks are built in batches of trim levels either. I think a truck order kit is assembled and then it gets in line. Whether its a Tradesman or a Limited the people on the line are able to build any configuration. As a truck rolls by the assembler has the parts for that truck right there and likely a computer screen telling them what to do for that configuration.

If that’s the case then what would determine when a truck gets built? We know order date has nothing to do with it. Is it just luck of the draw, or based on order region maybe as I’m sure they have the US broken up into sales regions

It's possible. Would be great if someone knew a plant worker that could tell us how they do it. I've seen manufacturing done multiple ways, but usually it's grouped by a common element to make logistics easier

I ordered my 2021 2500 Laramie CCLB Hemi on 9/4, got my build sheet on 11/20. Still no window sticker, been at the body vendor over a week now... Anyone else with an early order date not have a window sticker or estimated ship date yet?
I ordered my Laramie Diesel on 9/25, got the build sheet 11/20 but still no window sticker. Ramchat says it is at the body vendor for 11 days yesterday. Still no ship date

In the past at other makes, paint color was one of the biggest factors of batching. Less cleaning out of the spray equipment is less waste in material/cleaner/time.

That would explain why it took so long for my Olive Green order to be built.

I agree there doesn’t seem to be any logic to the build order. My 2020 was ordered near the end of the model order window.
8/18 and still waiting. Not an unusual color or trim, Black Laramie. Window sticker finally on 11/30. Expected in Denver 12/15
It seemed to be stuck in that waiting for optional equipment phase for about 6 weeks.

My window sticker has finally posted!

I'd think if there were any batching it'd be by chassis length with the benifit being overall length as the main consideration from an efficiency standpoint.

Wow. I placed my 2020 order on 8/28, received my VIN on 9/28 and picked it up 10/23 (original estimate was 10/26-11/6).

I've read somewhere here on the forum that the trucks are shipped further south in Mexico to get the offsite optional equipment added, so if they're still having shipping issues, that may explain some of what sounds like added recent delays.
