Price negotiated from MSRP

How’s this deal look...? 2500 tradesman Cummins 4x4. Seems like a decent discount as it’s a tradesman? It’s located about a 7hr drive out of state from me( I’m in S.Florida)
Thank you

Chrysler eliminated the Dealer Volume incentives. They used to get 100k to more a month when they met a specific amount of sold vehicles. If you got there at the rite day at the end of the month or you have been negotiating via email you may have gotten a deal when they had to move a unit to meet the threshold. There is a $1,700 holdback below the invoice in the vehicle along with $500 in Advertisement money. The best way to buy a vehicle is with a fleet account. Dealers now know without volume incentives that fleet customers are the priority and most are ramping up for that by adding fleet personal and garage space. I can not disclose the savings with the purchase I just ordered because I signed a non-disclosure with the fleet agreement.

That is absolutely correct. And dealers are pretty honest about it when you talk to them. That's why we ended up at the dealer we did. They were forthcoming, but found a way to work with us a little

How does this look?

He wants 63,842 which means 5723 off the price, about 8.2% off.

Doesn't seem that strong compared to the 9-12% most are getting here.

Do you all ever compare to FFP? Any idea how much margin they have for friends and family?

What price would you counter with?

Invoice is around 8% lower. You can negotiate the $1700 holdback possibly. If there are incentives you can get them also. That's about it.

I think you can get a little under the EP price. Get a quote from Koons and/or Lakeland and see if this dealer will match it.

What did the $2,500 rebate include?

That's an amazing deal, where did you get it? 12% discount off is a lot. My dealer is holding firm at 9.1% discount.

I agree, I was/am very pleased. I only wanted Olive Green Pearl, and inventory is practically non existent out there at least by me. To make matters worse it seemed dealers weren't even in the business of trading with each other like I'm used to. I was very close to just placing a factory order (at a much worse deal) before I found and negotiated this one all remotely. Travelled 1.5 hrs to get her and I was half expecting a bait/switch but thankfully no issues whatsoever! I don't know how they did it, but they did.

Dealership was Heritage CDJR in Harrisburg PA. Part of MileOne group. Truck was actually at thier Baltimore MD location but they brought it up for me. It was a good sales experience from start to finish.

Cool. Was the Conquest (Ford) because of a trade-in?
How does the TrueCar rebate work?
Were you talking with Heritage? (I am in York, I was talking to Heritage, who has a Baltimore and Harrisburg location, they had the best local pricing, but decided to stick with the guy a mile down the street.

No trade you just had to prove ownership of Ford/GM.

Funny thing with TrueCar is I didn't even use the service to find this particular truck/dealership. I've used it a few times in the past (USAA) successfully, and will always check it out mainly because I think its a pretty good source of info (invoice price w/options, what others are paying locally etc) and sometimes it leads to the best deal. A few weeks before purchase I did the TrueCar thing on a Ram, and it threw a couple dealers offers at me that were pretty weak so I gave it no more thought. Fast fwd to the night before I picked up my truck, AFTER I had already negotiated the deal above, I got a well-timed email from AMEX (because I had started the TruCar thing through them I guess) saying "Hey, if you're still looking for a Ram use this rebate for $500 off anywhere". I sent it to my salesman and he added it to the already sweet deal no problem. Best email I ever got! A day later and I would have missed it.

There's a long list of affiliates that do TrueCar marketing incentives.

USAA and PenFed are $1K. You have to be a member for 30-60 days to get them.

I did a USAA rebate AFTER I did the deal with a dealer and placed an order. You just get spammed by other dealers (probably including your own) which are easy to blow off, but get an incentive code they can apply to the deal.

First post, but have been lurking for several months researching. Thanks to info from this site I signed papers this morning on my 20 Bighorn CC 6.7, MSRP $62755, OTD $55,500 for 11.6% below. Allowances were HD engine, National Assoc of Realtors, and conquest.

I feel I did pretty well. Thanks to everyone for the good info.

Hello- First post here. Hope it to be many in the future. I have wanted a Ram for 10 years and am finally pulling the trigger. While the Black Friday sales on the 1500's are attractive I am in the market for a 2500.

I am in the Northeast and its slim pickings and not many incentives I qualify for. I will be negotiating purely on MSRP.

For a 2500 what % off MSRP should I be negotiating for?

Alas, it begins......the dealers are starting to get worried again. Started calling me out of the blue again, it’s been awhile, but new COVID crap and election b.s. has people around here tightening their wallets. I told a dealer yesterday, no I am no longer interested, he asks why? I asked him, “where are they gonna let me drive to.” Earlier this year, they cancelled camping, I imagine the crazy politicians will go to even more drastic measures now.

Hello all. I am looking at a 2020 2500 Laramie Level 1 Night Edition 6.4L

MSRP: $63,210

Dealer offered $54,475 but has about $1300 in additional tint/"theft system"/wheel locks unwanted dealer adds

+ doc fees/taxes

Looking though here, it looks like 12% off MSRP seems to be the sweet spot for a good deal. That would put the sales price at dealer offer + the adds, or close to it. Anyone have any comments on any more wiggle room?

Thank Guys -

Let's hear what everyone is paying for their new Heavy Duties! These threads are great as it give people an idea of pricing to shoot for when purchasing.

I think the best way to make this thread is as follows:
MSRP of the specific truck
What Rebates and incentives were applied and $ amounts
Any further negotiations
Final price

Please do not include trade in values, taxes, OTD price or anything like that as those are all variable depending on where you live etc. Rebates and incentives are also regional so also please post up where you purchased the truck and when.

Example:

2016 Ram 1500 Sport

MSRP $64,440
-$10,000 rebate from Ram
-$1000 skilled trades rebate
-$3940 additional negotiated at dealer
=$49,500 paid

Vancouver. B.C August 2016
Last December I purchased a 2019 3500 Limited. The window sticker was 82,000.00 and change. They threw in the good winter floormats, full fuel and DEF, and fully undercoat and rust proofing (lifetime warranty). I wrote the check out for 65,000.00 total. I thought that I did very well. Sold my 2011 Ram 2500 Laramie loaded w/55000 mi., v plow, 5th wheel and gooseneck to a friend for 40.000.00. That truck was immaculate. Both are 6.7 diesels.
