Installed KC LED lights under the hood.

I snaked the two wires inside the rubber sleeve protecting the washer fluid line.

Everything covered with Techflex (except inside that tube) and taped as needed with Tessa high heat tape. Engine bay part also covered with split loom and taped.

Pinned to AUX3 and the Ground provided in the upfitter plugs. Labeled for reference.

Changed AUX3 fuse to the lowest available in the AUX PDC (20A) Need to find a smaller (3-5A) fuse for these lights if they make a (J?) cartridge fuse that small.

Since I only had one (AUX5) connection left open in the lower plug, I plugged it in and blunt cut sealed it with two layers of marine heat shrink.

I did not get pics during the build, but assembled a weatherpack connection to bring power and ground to both lights and tied it up to the washer fluid line under the liner.

Used the KC provided round connectors behind the panel to allow for easy change out if needed, and left some maintenance slack to enable access without dropping the panel.

I used a couple of these body clips I had on hand with large head metal screws and a washer to hold the lights to the existing holes. Perfect fit.

Shaved off the post on the other broken clips and drilled them to use as washers for the same body clips with their provided plastic screws.

I wouldn't mind adding a reflector "hood" to these if I can figure something out.
Nice job Brutal. I plan on doing the same way. Just got the lights but heading tomorrow for desert camping. And again over Thanksgiving, So, hood lights installation will wait until December.

Sounds like you mounted lights with screws into existing hood pin holes. I was thinking about mounting only to the hood insulation bur not sure if they would sag the insulation down. What do you think? Stay with direct to the hood?

I didn't use a bare screw. I used the body panel insert that comes with a plastics screw/insert as shown, but replaced with a slightly longer large head metal screw and larger washer. I'll see if I can get a pic of that screw and measure, but I think it came out of a bag of fender flare clips I had leftover.

I would not mount to the pad. It will sag. The existing holes are, IMHO< the best place to mount them. It's almost like the indentation was made to mount lights. Perhaps the bean counters nixed them.

Notice the center tab is outside its slot and there's already a ear/tear on the pad where it rides on the EGR(?) control cable asm. Still noodling the best way to secure it.

Thanks.
I have body pins, plastic inserts and washers and other odds and ends.
Will mount to the hood for sure.

new hitch...

Nice hitch. If I were you I’d buy 2 extra sets of pins and rods. Just for the simple fact if someone steals one it becomes a bad day. They are easy to take. I usually keep 2 in my truck and only have ever needed to replace 1 but just food for thought.

You can also pick up a set of like keyed locking pins so you never have to worry about one walking off. I did the same for my bulletproof hitch and inserts.
I have them on both my trucks. Takes away all the worry. I also have the hitch locking pins that use the fob key.

Installed this Baja Designs Reverse Light Kit. Has the S2 sports. Would have rather had the pros, but the kit only came with the sports. They're good enough for what they are. No pics, but here's a video. Skip to the end if you just want to see the night shots.

Installed my old Toolbox on the new truck. Need to wash it but we leave in close proximity to a gravel plant so the dust gets on everything.

After seeing how expensive black lugs are, went this route and I have to say, I’m pretty happy. $20 in 22mm black plastic caps and I eliminated the only chrome/silver thing on my truck.

Got a link for the caps?
