Adding adaptive cruise

I purchased a used DASM 04672894AB. Plugged it in but I guess I need to take it to the dealer to get my vin programmed in it. Does anyone know if using Alphaobd and turning on the LKA options brings up the LKA light on the dash without having the correct hardware installed yet? Before I go get this DASM programmed I want to make sure I am on the right path as I would expect to have the LKA light on the dash at this point.

Well new DASM 04672894AB did not get LKA working. I was able to get it into plant mode to recognize my truck and then calibrate it with no issues. I know it’s working as ACC is working. By any chance does anyone have LKA functioning and could send me a backup file of their truck with alphaobd so I can see if maybe something in my BCM is not set correctly? Thanks.

Have the issues toward the end of this thread been solved? I'm looking to do ACC, LKA and a DRVM in my '22 2500 Limited Longhorn diesel and want to make sure I have better than a 50% chance of success before I end up with $2600 worth of paperweights.

its been a minute since I’ve been on, someone messaged me direct which recalled my attention to the thread. I just spent the last hour reading up and I’m feeling bad for all you guys towards the end here! It has been a bit since I completed mine but I was completely successful and I use the Comma.ai on my truck all the time. It was certainly worth my effort and $. Here is what I had and where I went:

2022 Laramie Hemi
Steering overlay was factory

I replaced:
- the entire 12” display to add the LKA button.
-Windshield
-DASM (new 2022 model specific)
-rear view mirror (had auto beams from factory and wouldn’t fit new windshield)
-wiring harness
-steering wheel controls
-The o ly Alph settings I made were those identified by Jimmy07 prior to my post saying it worked…somewhere in the 20s range I think.
-I did not involve a dealer at any point. I bought the tools and a WiTech subscription. I had errors on the dash prior to Cali but no idea what they were. The calibration was straight forward in WiTech, once completed everything worked as expected.

Appreciate the update, same year and almost the same trim gives me some confidence to make this upgrade to my own machine. Which tools did you need to buy to complete the upgrade yourself? FCA dealers in my area still give me nightmares after the issues I had with them on my wrangler.

Trying to get this sorted on a MY22 Laramie. I have all the equipenent installed and have completed the calibration but still getting a mismatch error. Is it possible that the necessary next step is a proxi alignment? if so, is that possible with AlfaOBD or any other aftermarket tools? @Jimmy07 do you have any insight?

UPDATE: I managed to get Adaptive Cruise working after initially getting the Vehicle configuration mismatch that I could not get to clear. It appears that the DASM that I purchased (New and the part number for a 2022 listed earlier in this thread) was looking for this setting:

P/T Chassis Net: EPS Electric Power Steering- ENABLED

Once I enabled this, I was able to clear the mismatch error and adaptive cruise was available and working!!

I now have another error in the DASM "Lost communication with EPS module" which throws a warning lamp on the dash, but I'll figure that out and update here when I do.

Finally! Got mine working by enabling the EPS setting. Big thanks for finding this!! Do you have the Torque Overlay, I'm wondering if that is what it's looking for.

Happy to hear it worked for you too!

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I don't have the torque overlay (adaptive steering) or Lane Keep Assist. My best guess is that when the DASM software was updated for the TSB that addressed the "phantom braking" issue, the software developers accidentally grabbed the configuration of a truck that had adaptive steering and ACC and inadvertantly made it a requirement for ACC to work.

I'm tempted to retrofit LKA and then add in comma ai for long trips pulling the trailer -- would make those trips way easier, although finally having ACC is great.

I also have the service power steering error now, but easy to live with now that I have ACC. I texted jimmy07 to see if he thinks adding torque overlay might fix that error. Might be my next project

Just checking has anyone successfully completed the adaptive cruise add on a
2023 I have a 2023 3500 6.7 tradesman.

Jimmy07 got back to me, and he agreed that it's looking for the torque overlay module now. If I can a source for the custom harness or a wiring diagram so I can create one myself I will make this me next project. :-)

Tried adding to my 22. All new parts, used all the updated settings and was unsuccessful. I get the configuration mismatch. Messaged @Jimmy07, he’s not gotten back to me. Hopefully someone will figure it out soon. Other wise this was an expensive experiment.
If you haven't already figured out read the latest updates to this thread for the possible solution :-)

restored my bcm to factory defaults and only made the necessary changes unrelated to DASM. Car was fine. Then all I did was enable the DASM on the PT Chassis Net and immediately got the vehicle configuration mismatch dtc. So without changing anything else, just enabling the DASM I get the error. Plant mode enter and exit didn’t change anything.

Basically I dont know what the issue is. Something else yet to be identified.
Check the latest posts under adding ACC I was able to get rid of the configuration mismatch, mine started working immediately after this latest setting
