Really want a 2026 RAM 2500 Loaded Laramie Cummins but.....

On the term "Loaded". I worked dealerships for 6yrs. As I understood it, loaded meant the car was so full of options and accessories that you could either haul you and a full tank of gas or a 1/4 tank and a friend. Which brings us full circle to the 2500 vs 3500 debate.
Payload!
Went to RV show with daughter and her hubby last weekend. He says we want a 5th wheel, my "loaded" F150 will tow 14k! Oh really, Lol, what's your payload rating? Payload? Whats that?
They should be teaching this in home economics! If that still existed...

I must say guys...and not looking for all of the haters to come out from under the rocks, but with all of the electrical and software issues I've been reading and hearing about, amongst other engine related issues, I am a bit concerned about buying a 2026 and wondering if maybe I should wait to see if the 2027 may have more of the kinks worked out???

Its a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you dont. The 27s may have some new update/upgrade that turns into a shat show and makes you wish you stuck with the issues you were aware of with a 26 ‍¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have a 2020 leather dash . I live in S Cal parked outside no problem . The truck itself is a Longhorn and it has only been to the dealership for recalls . 73 k

Yep, I said that in post 24 & 26 ;) Most everyone already knows that the website will only let you select available options and that one option may negate another so you have two select what's most important. I thought that went without saying but apparently not.....

I’m just picking on people who use the word “loaded”. :)
 
I would not worry about the trucks you read online that are having issues...I still believe its a small number. There are more than handful of updates you should have the dealer look in to before you drive it off the lot so they can do most of the updates before you take it home.

I read that FCA has suspended OTA updates for the 2025+ trucks so they don't brick any trucks are complicate issues. So a dealer trip is a must.

Friend of mine has a 2025 and he has really had only a couple weird error messages after he bought it nothing since he has had about 6 updates.

Don't be scared.

When do these electrical and software issues start happening? my 2025 3500 has 26K miles with 0 issues. People that want to wait for the next year thinking issues will be resolved are dreaming, as every year has somewhat of a change to it.
 
As far as dashboards = everything since the 1960s steel dash will come apart from sun exposure eventually.

The way to keep it nice ( any vehicle ) is to cover the dash to reduce sun exposure when parked.

I think if you are going to have issues you will see things right away, I think your experience is typical for the 2025+ owners. I really don't understand how some can have software issues and others not if its all the same software etc..but as with any computer things may not load right from the factory I guess.
 
the only electrical issue I have had on my '22 dsl 4x4 ccsb laramie is that once in a while the 12" screen goes black for some reason. sometimes it just goes back to normal on it's own and it is always all ok next time I start the truck . I dont want it sitting at the dealer for weeks on end so I have just lived with it in as much as it doesnt happen very often. the wife and I only use android phones and it seems that everytime I get the black screen we have one or two passengers with I-phones so I am thinking the phone combination freaks out the truck's systems. we dont pair our phones with the truck so maybe it cant decide what the heck to do.

Any new vehicle could have issues. Your on a forum and searching the internet where probably less than 1% of people that own these trucks engage and many of them only engage when they have issue. I’m hard pressed to think the majority of these have problems. To each his own.

If the issues were that big of a deal you’d be seeing it in “the” media (and then it would probably be fake news anyway) and more recalls/ service bulletins…and not just a bunch of idiots (speaking for myself) posting stuff on the interwebs.

If you’re buying it for the long haul get the extended warranty and enjoy it now. Why wait for what you don’t know the future might bring?

I had the same concern, but I’m looking at it a little differently. IMO, this feels more like an electrical issue than a mechanical one—though it may require a few sensors that play nicer with the new Atlantis architecture. I’d much rather deal with that than true core mechanical problems (lifters, lift pumps, engines, transmissions, rear axles, etc.). I was originally planning to wait for the ’27s, but I definitely don’t want to be the test dummy for a new 7.2L if/when that happens.

Historically, the RAM 1500s went through similar growing pains with the Atlantis architecture and are now very stable. I think things will work out just fine. The sky isn’t falling (yet — haha).
