Starting to look at 2026 3500 trucks. I may have missed it, but it appears that rear wheel drive is no longer available. Standard seems to be 4X4. I always bought RWD since they were a bit lower in the rear for pulling an older fifth wheel trailer. Plus the truck is a pavement princess.

Don't see any issues with a 4x2 3500 truck build on the website builder. Are you adding options that are forcing you to change to 4x4?

This is what it has to be. Hes trying to get a Megacab ill bet, as you can put any other configuration and option without it changing to 4x4 besides that.

In 2021 the only drivetrain option for MegaCab was 4x4. Probably the same today.

Until you need to back up an incline on wet grass...

Haven't been on an incline with wet grass in 30 years. Haven't been stuck in 30 years either. Probably more than 30 years. Besides, always a guy with a Ford that is anxious to pull you out and make a show of it. LOL. Regardless, looks like I will be buying a 4WD.

On the Canadian build site, that chart does not exist. Maybe a mistake on Ram's marketing since the 2026 info is relatively new and their website keeps changing. RWD doesn't show as a choice for Laramie, Limited or Longhorn models. Lower models DO show RWD as a choice. Won't be ordering, if I order at all, until spring,

I recall the upper trims not having the RWD option a few years back, but it looks like they can for 2026 in the ordering guide.
I added screenshots to my post #8. Not a huge deal but I don't have any way of raising my fifth wheel which is aready nose high with my current truck which is RWD. At least not without major suspension surgery. Maybe a Canadian thing. LOL

Do you have the auto-level suspension?

The 2026 charts show the rear is .4" lower than the 2021 charts, and the RWD auto-level would be another .4" lower than the standard RWD truck in normal ride height.

For what it's worth the Ram builder website has been proven to be pretty inaccurate vs what a dealer order system can do. Id work with a dealership before giving up and resigning to a 4x4 truck you don't want.

Yes, My 2021 has the rear air and the new one will as well. Interesting that the rear is almost a half inch lower for 2026.

I provided the dealership with the window sticker of my current truck which is RWD. He gave a pricing sheet for a 4X4 optioned identical . However, it will be a while before I actually put in an order and things might change. If only a 4X4 is available it is not the end of the world, especially if the rear is a half inch lower than the 2021 MY.

Well, good for you young man! :)

I watch all of these "ticking" lifter and pushrod threads and it does give me concern. I'd be lying if I said I've not considered a new truck with the 8 speed.

My worry is I don't drive my truck enough for these issues to surface. I only have 31k miles on it after almost 5 years (she'll be 5 years old in March).

That being said, mine has been absolutely trouble free, literally 0 issues. *knocks on wood.

Mine is the same age as yours. I only have 26K on mine but I do pull a heavy fifth wheel. I put around 6K a year on it and almost 70 percent is towing miles. Apart from a bunch of recalls, the truck has been trouble free and runs and sounds great. However a recent oil analysis gives me pause and I think it is time to move on.
