Is your tailpipe oily?

So i just checked it and it is not oil at all.

When I run my finger around the inside of the pipe I don’t get any oily residue on my finger.
I just did this last weekend as a friend’s car was low on oil and he was trying to figure out where it was going. His car’s tailpipe was oily no dry like my Ram or Lexus.

I definitely ran my finger on the inside and all I got was the carbon build up. There was no oily substance at all inside. Thank you for the insight. I'm hoping it's nothing and was just low on oil. Maybe I just need to do my oil changes every 4000 miles.

So I wonder if it’s going out the breather (PCV) or out the tailpipe. Out the tailpipe could be a future EGR problem. Out the PCV would maybe warrant a catch can?
