Remote start added to 2020 Tradesman (SOLVED)

Just want to say thanks for all posts and guides posted here! I just successfully completed this on my 2020 2500 Tradesman. AMZ fob ($28), AMZ obd2 BT ($30), Infotainment Bypass CBus Cable($25), JScan($25). Everything worked on the 1st attempt with zero issues.

I use mine more in the summer than winter but normally it doesn’t get that cold here. We had one morning it was 13*F which is unusual for us. Being retired I can wait until it warms up some outside.

Could be the EBay fob. Some people have had trouble with them.
 
I’m not the smartest and haven’t found a clear cut (how to) yet for myself.

I have a 2019 Ram 2500 Tradesman. I have the hood latch connector present, I have the Vgate vLinker currently and the Kaodtech Bypass is on the way, and I’ll probably download app/program on my pc (alpha obd2) ?

I have not sourced a new key fob yet. Some have been listed but then disproved as a reputable vendor. Is there a reputable place to get them from that is not dealer 300% markup?

After I get the fobs, I will go in and enable remote start first then go to dealer and have them programed. I should be good to go correct?

Its been brought up before… Ill want the tailgate function also- Ill get fob with button for it. What else is needed for that to work? Secondly, I cant find if* the deezee strut works in factory location. Best option/strut for this?

Dealer won't program aftermarket FOBs, refurbs are likely to fail. Just get one of the recommended FOB from ebay (below) and do it yourself.

You can't program FOB with AlfaOBD, so get JScan. Works on iOS or Android.

deezee strut will not work in factory (inside) location.
 
I got mine at keylessentryremote. Genuine Mopar fobs in many configurations. I also used the JScan.
 
I guess my mistake, I thought it was dealer only to program fobs from what I've read. Jscan is a one stop shop, good to know.

Ill be doing fog lights, led headlights, 8.5'' radio upgrade, and more down the road with it too.

Alpha obd2 and Jscan I thought pretty much did the same thing also. I'm an android guy but prolly use pc mostly.

4.5 gen are complicated, just need to go back to my 2nd gen... haha

You said "There is a “kit”, and all it consists of is two fobs and the hood latch with it’s wiring. If you already have a connector with wires plugged into your hood latch, then all you need is a fob." Do you know where I can purchase this kit for my 2022 Ram?

The dealer. You can look it up online first to bring them a part number

This is the only kit I see online. It has the RF hub too!

Pretty sure I already know the answer but gonna put it out there anyway. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will have insight as to what to look for in the remote itself. Is a $15.00 aftermarket marketplace remote start fob going to program and function on a 2020 6.7? The hood wire at the latch is already there so iam thinking this should be just the matter of programming the fob and updating the settings in the truck.

I added the remote start first and then programmed the fob. I got my fob from keylessentryremote and it’s a genuine Mopar fob. Some others will hook up and some won’t.

The others some will hook up and some won't says its a fifteen dollar fob and there's a reason it's fifteen dollars on marketplace.

I was in Jscan changing the TPMS and doing some other stuff and turned the remote start on and ordered the fob later. I got the 3 or 4 button fob without the tailgate release. Good service from those folks and it worked perfectly.
