just recently bought my 2021 3500 with 93k upon test driving i notice a whining/squealing on start up and also upon acceleration, the dealer told me they would get it fixed free of charge as a part of the deal so i took it in and they replaced the serpentine belt saying the old one was frayed. I go start the truck before leaving the dealer and it’s still the same sound happening, so i let them know that wasn’t the issue and they tell me to give it a few days might be the new belt needed worn in. i have another appointment set next week but the source doesn’t seem to be the engine bay at all and actually seems more like it could be coming from directly under the truck exhaust/ transmission area. any ideas?

My brand new 2026 (w/hemi) does something like you describe as well. I’m waiting for a cold day to see if there is steam/fog coming from an exhaust leak. The other scenario I’ve considered is the aux alternator belt. My truck has the second alternator which uses its own belt and as far as I can tell it is a “stretch type” of belt. I’m wondering if this little belt might be part of it. It definitely sounds like it’s coming from the Y-pipe though. It goes away for the most part after warming up. I have heard of guys on hear that had cracked/broken exhaust components also.

Simple research would have answered this for you. This is very common, some would argue its "normal", and there is no fix for it offically.

Heres one of a few threads about it and my reply with videos i posted for the forum.
