I'm curious is there a difference in def fluids. I know the shelf life is two years, There are so many different brands,The guy I purchased my truck from always usded Peak Blue DEF, wich averages around twenty five dollars for 2.5 Gal. Yesterday at Running's they had a brand called blue def for 8 dollars for 2.5 gal. I don't mind spending more for the Peak brand but if there's no difference I wouldn't.
 
I use Peak Blue DEF or the NAPA brand which is the Peak Blue DEF in another box. Currently on sale at $13 in Laramie, Wyoming, so I purchased one to keep two on hand in the truck bed. It's just peace of mind to use what I know has worked in the past with no issues when you have to drive 47 miles one way for auto parts. Otherwise, it's supposed to be all DEF compliant.

If you can buy it at the Pump it's cheaper. From what I have read DEF is about all the same. I pay 2.77 a gal at a Fleet Fuel Satation. Save your money on the Fancy stuff.
 
For me pumps are way to far and availability of brands in jugs is very limited so Ive been using "Air 1" at my auto parts store for $18 for 2 1/2 gallons for 3 years now.

Wow! If only Wyoming where we're visiting family had just one Costco. None in the entire state. Visited with a member to the only one in Western Colorado (larger in size than Pennsylvania) near Vail (Gypsum) once, but it's a 200 mile round trip drive from our home. Saw a large display of $3,000.00 champagne bottles in the aisle soon after I entered and I walked out. Didn't know that they sold stuff cheap.
 
This was Costco near Vail back in 2019 with the $3K champagne for sale. Maybe it's worth a 2nd look for Peak Blue DEF at another Costco somewhere else for driver's of Ram HD trucks. This Costco seemed to be catering to the elite clientele.

I should have figured that out,I know NAPA'S brand engine oil is bottled by Valvoline . I'll check it out there's a NAPA in town.

Some years back when I was still driving Ford I remember reading about a Blue DEF that had some kind of additive that caused a lot of problems. I imagine that product is long gone, but it still wouldn't hurt to check the ingredients before purchasing.
Pump DEF is my last resort because the risk of contamination is quite high. Tank condition is simply unknown and when the tank is being filled it is impossible to maintain "clean room" standards - dirt can blow in, for example, or the truck's dispenser nozzle can be coated with grime or oil from driving down the road. To my mind, pump DEF just changes containers too often and each change introduces an opportunity for contamination.
I've been using WalMart's brand since 2017. It's available in virtually every town country wide. In 2020 the WalMart in Goshen, IN had supply issues so I used the pump at the Exxon station nearby a few times. The nozzle was always crusted over and often left laying on the ground because the hose didn't retract very well.
 
Nothing wrong with using Walmart DEF. Our nearest one is around 40 miles from our home. It's a Neighborhood Market though and doesn't sale DEF or much of anything in automotive. That's where we shop though. Nearest Walmart to Ely, Nevada is 190 miles, so no complaints. Walmart needs a surrounding town population of around 10K people to make profit with a store.

You could order online at pick up at the store.

We like the Super Walmart in Laramie, Wyoming. Tried the shipping to one in Rifle, Colorado which is 50 miles for our home's well water filters. I had the same experience as this reviewer...

"Ordering on line for delivery or shipped is almost impossible. Delivery has you pay then sends notice they don’t have it in stock after they advertise they have it for sale. SHIPPING after you pay always comes back 3-4 times your shipment has been delayed. Then don’t want to reimburse you for 10 days or more."
