D.E.F Fluid

Exactly, so that they can eventually thaw themselves out. (How long will it take to thaw five gallons of DEF with a 180 watt heater? Anybody want to guess heat of fusion of DEF?) Just like my local DEF pump, also has a heater.

My point was: if the pump is frozen, so is the spare box you keep in your truck and so is your tank, so your truck isn't exactly using much of the stuff.
I mean, spending lots of time working through Wyoming winters, I don’t see a tangible decrease in def consumption.

Suppose it’s a moot point.

How do you read the code?I just bought it they did say it was packaged for NAPA by Peak Blue Def
The three that I purchased of NAPA DEF last week in Laramie, Wyoming have no date code on the box. So I can't help you.

Our nearest auto parts which is a NAPA in Collbran, Colorado is selling their remaining parts inventory. Out of business. No DEF and no 5W-40 diesel oil. Our next nearest auto parts is a NAPA in Parachute at 35 miles further which I headed to yesterday for motor oil. There's no other auto parts in Cedaredge, De Beque, Collbran, and Palisade. Paonia has a NAPA. So it's now an even bigger region with zero auto parts stores.

There just about isn’t anything you can’t get from there. One touch ordering has gotten me pretty lazy!
I like amazon for when I need a tool in a day when I cant find it local...or crazy expensive.

So, they have DEF at pumps, just like fuel? I never noticed. I am a new diesel truck owner. I had a diesel VW Passat but it used so little DEF, I just bought a jug every few months.

Around here its just at truck stops..

Depends on the ambient temp and tank temp. If you were to spend all your time below 12°F and the tank never started to warm up you’d see a decrease in DEF consumption.

The few times I had my 22 below 12°F if the tank is cold soaked the truck didn’t even attempt to warm the tank until the ambient temp was 12°F. I went days with a solid block of DEF. I drove well over 100 miles one morning (until the temp got above 12°F) with zero DEF injection, that definitely has an impact when the average mpg DEF on that truck was ~500.

It's urea in water. It's like trying to find a premium brand of sugar water.

Our town has a conveniently located pump at a fleet fueling station. It's $3.50 a gallon and I don't have to deal with the jugs/bottles.
Your lucky to have a station close by that is selling it, my self along with many others don't have station close by that has a DEF pump, so we use Walmart DEF, it cost $8.88 for 2.5 gallons = $3.552 a gallon

All the truck, farm, and equipment operators in your town are buying fuel, DEF, and off road diesel somewhere. Dump trucks, delivery trucks, etc.

I lived in this town 9 years and then changed employers. Right across the street from my office is a four bay miniature truck stop with diesel, DEF, off road diesel, gasoline, race fuel, non ethanol gas, etc. I never knew it was here before it bit me. They don't have an attendant or a place to buy snacks, just swipe your card and pump. Honestly I don't know how they stay open but they're affiliated with the truck wash and fleet mechanic shop down the street.

The local truckers buy it from CFN & Pacific Pride Cardlock or Jubitz Fleet Services site, no local gas station carried it at the pump, my nearest truck stop is a hour plus drive one way so I just buy it at Walmart that is just down the street from me...

There's not too many truck stops in Western Colorado. Very few truck stops off of Interstate 70 on the main highways heading both north and south, like none. It's even rarer to see a DEF filling station, since none are shown on this map. The pumps aren't heated in winter and there's no plastic door. Lucky if the card reader works. This region is larger in size larger than the state of Pennsyvania. I stock up with DEF when I see it sold.

I believe it's:
2033 = Plant code
26 = year manufactured -1
104 = days into the year (April 14th, 2025)
7938 = batch code
