uc5 12inch upgrade 2020 2500 tradesman Back up Camera will not function no matter what i try !!!

No sir factory camera that came with the truck i can not 100 sure i didnt screw up asetting in alfa though the one thing for sure is the 8.4 it works with each time it plugged back in

It’s actually not possible for a dealership to do the complete 12” swap, even UC4 to UC4, let alone UC4 to UC5.
They don’t have the custom conversion cables that are needed at their disposal, unless they pull the dash and swap out the whole dash harness.
Then, even if they are able to swap in the parts and wiring, they have no way to configure the BCM for the 12” screen because the sales code that needs to be added doesn’t exist to them in their diagnostic tool.

Can you paste your original backup file, and your current backup file here. These are the ones that have a bunch of lines of numbers and letters that all begin with “62”.
 
I’m sorry to seem to open a can of worms about this whole upgrade I love everything about it and if I have to live for a bit without the camera it doesn’t take away from really enjoying it I can be patient lol

I didn’t see this sir may I do it in the morning I have a few drs visits to attend to I will gladly take any advice given

Since you’re asking this, then I’m guessing you never made an original backup file (rule #1 before making any changes with alfaobd for the first time)?
If not, let me get your current backup file then.
In alfaobd, connect to the body computer as usual.
Go to active diagnostics to the same list where you would find car configuration change.
Select “backup configuration to file” and hit start.
When it’s done, it will tell you the pathway to find where that file is on your device.
Go to the file, open it up, copy all the line items, and paste them here in this thread.

I have a backup from 2024 before I did anything except the tow mirrors sir would that help? I did the other stuff after . tried to follow the bouncing ball as far as Alfa Jimmy I’m trying !!! I’m super good with computers problem lying with Alfa is the layout and my inability to keep track of what the heck I’m doing lol brain not quite working like it used to may I direct message you the file I’m new here I’m not sure if the rules would not allow that

I’m even trying the spray cleaner method at the moment it’s cooler today

If you have a backup file from 2024, paste that here too.
Keep in mind, I’m talking about the backup file, and not the read of the BCM configuration system ID.
The backup file is a text file that just has a bunch of lines of numbers and letters (example picture below), which is what I need.
The BCM configuration system ID is a log that tells you what all the bcm settings are set to.

Probably another Newb question sir once you figure out what I screwed up how do I make it right? Please pardon my ignorance on this one
 
The solution i received after much guidance and help Especially @Jimmy07 was first and foremost to understand what your doing and do your due diligence in making sure that the parts are compatible 1500 modules im sure listed somewhere else as well DUH!!!! lol are not going to work with the hd rams ....... again this was my ignorance when locate the correct module everything will from my understanding work 100% thanks again every one that helped this is a learning curve and definitely not my first with a Ram truck lol frustrating at times but i guess the learning part keeps the brain doing its job
 
Solved!!!!!!!!!! Thanks everyone I did it thanks to several of you great people that stuck around throughout my ignorance about this topic part specific to your Ram hd Jimmy07 after spending a lot of time helping me diagnosed the issue with my situation if it ain’t from a heavy do not buy the module it will not function correctly in my case the camera not working and everything thing else was your mileage may vary I did only one change today after getting the radio from a 2022 salvage 2500 because the problem persisted today I when into Alfa and set the radio model year only veh configuration 1 this has been drilled home to me in several previous posts and advise I did that and followed along with every piece of information that I could it did not work out with the

1500 part number module but today well it did today thanks all
