uc5 12inch upgrade 2020 2500 tradesman Back up Camera will not function no matter what i try !!!

Hi all i know I'm new here but i could use the help of a upgrade specialist if you will lol .radio module is from a 2023 screen I'm not going to lie not 100% sure every single feature works perfectly but no matter what i do blue rear camera !!! I'm a bit older and not super familiar with alfa odb but I'm trying my best i don't wanna mess up anything . i plug my 8.4 radio non nav uc4 camera works no problem every time i try .I've done as much research as could tried many different approaches to solve my issue is my tailgate camera the problem? or am I screwing up in the settings? please any insight would be super appreciated. i absolutely don't want to give up on this radio its super nice it hurts me to plug the old one back in lol
 
In alfaobd car configuration change:
VehConfig 1: Model Year- 2022

VehConfig 3: HVAC Configuration- Dual Zone ATC

Radio & Connectivity: Head Unit ScreenSize- R1 12.3’ 1920x720

Cabin Net: DCSD Display Screen Module- Enabled

Cabin Net: ICS Integrated Center Stack- Not Enabled

After that, reboot the radio twice in a row by pressing and holding the power button on the left radio knob for 15 seconds.
 
@Jimmy07 you were the person i was hoping to answer thank you in advance !!! i followed this procedure i saw you post in another thread no luck as soon as i set the year to 22 the camera icon disappears until i go back to 2020
 
To my knowledge, what jimmy said is what the steps are. If that doesnt work ether 1. deal with the 8.4 as thats what you bought. 2. spend the money and take it to the dealership to let them do it or 3. trade in your truck for a one that has the 12 inch. 2 an 3 will depend on how much you want the 12 inch screen.

Dealers wont be able to help and just giving up is a terrible idea its likely something simple thats missing

Those are the exact settings that everyone else uses on a UC5 swap with regular rear view camera, and always works.
Double check all those settings, make sure you didn’t change any other settings besides those, and do the factory reset and reboots on the radio. That’s the best anyone will be able to tell you.
 
I appreciate your help and honesty I wasn’t being rude or insulting so I don’t appreciate that coming my way ! I’m older and I came here for guidance quite possibly because of my age and programming lack of experience I have attempted those settings verbatim that being said I may have missed or messed up I’ll eat that ! But for some one to tell me very condescendingly buy another truck maybe you’re in that position or situation I however am not so that was not a helpful
to those that did try to help me I appreciate all the insight and will keep trying until I figure it out!

The 23 radio module and the 22 are the same as far as functionality for our trucks?
 
Is it possible that I did something incorrect in programming some other camera settings that I should enable or disable

Sure they will i know a couple people personally who took their trucks into dealers to swap to a 12 inch screen. Now will they all do it? probably not. Then again some dealers dont even want to install aftermarket parts so.
Im positive there is just a step missing as well because this is a fairly common upgrade, and jimmy steps are what most use from what i know, theyll get it figured out.

Im sure you have tried this but.... have you started completely from scratch step by step again? From replacement of screen, electrical harnesses and alfa steps?

I’m sorry I kind of came off like well a jerk lol I meant no offense I saw take the truck and replace it I was like gee 100 degrees working for the last month to get it to work I was and still am frustrated. I absolutely have followed to the best of my ability Jimmy’s knowledge base on different forums even lol it’s been like going down a rabbit hole if you will lol !!!! man have I thought of trading during that time a million times lol but it’s not in the cards like I stated I have every single other function of the radio so I have to be close but I’m super stumped I’m seriously trying everything that I can find out here I usually don’t ask for help but I’m at a loss. I’m ready to just leave it be for now and keep on learning about it until I get it

Oh no offense taken, truth be told i would be just as frustrated. I hear you on the heat and working. I have to put on retractable steps on my new truck but its hot as hell in AZ and i work 12 hour shifts night shift currently and i get frustrated because i cant get things done ether and or get impatient because something isnt working right when installing but im just pissed because im hot lol. No worries.
Youll get it partner!
 
Thundar20: you didn't change anything physically with the camera in question that isn't working by chance? Is there anyway that its not the camera everyone thinks it is and a different one has been installed?

UC4- UC5 is not as simple as a screen swap most dealers would just say its not possible in my experience lol.
