Wait for the 2026 at this point?

Here we are into February and I cannot place an order due to paint for sure. I guess the question is when does it make sense to just wait and order a 2026. I don't expect any ground breaking upgrades, and the PW really did not get anything for 2025 other then an ugly front end and extra TV inside. But as the order books normally open in what, July? At what point should I look at a 2026 if they do not release paint soon?

Do you NEED a truck now? If no, wait. Get what you want and let the 25 upgrades cook another year especially if you are getting he CTD. Never buy a first year anything.

The Power Wagon was all but unchanged, less power, another screen, safety nannies if you want them. So not horribly worried like new Diesel Emissions.

I wouldn't get your hopes up that you'll be able to order a '26 in July of '25. Maybe in November or December of '25, or January of '26.

I think the dealership that work with the forum did it release the order books until like December 2024 for the 2025. If that pattern stays true, it will probably be way past July of this year before you can order a 2026.

As others have said, I try to avoid buying first year anything with a major revision. Obviously, if you're not in the market for the diesel (with the first-year 8 Spd trans) the PW looks to just have a few more safety nannies, as has been said. Nothing monumental.

I think vehicles have become a bit like android and iPhones, you just buy what you need, when you need it. There is always an improved version just a few months down the road, but it won't be monumentally better.

The American truck builders have done an incredible job of trickle-dripping minor changes to front grilles, interiors, wheels, paint colors, etc. They want us to think these things are so vastly improved year over year that it's worth the depreciation hit to upgrade every couple years. And the constantly changing bodywork makes the 2-3 year old trucks look ancient, and that's how they want it.

Tesla gets a lot of flak for never changing anything, but it also doesn't mean a 1 year old Y looks that different from a 4 year old Y.

My dealer just called and said the 2026 ordering is now open for the 2500.
June 12, 2025.

This is true, I ordered my 26 3500 today in the new color silver zynith.

I have a 2021 3500 HO that I’m trading. The new trans is really nice comparing the aisin to it!

My dealer said it’ll arrive September - October, not sure on what has changed. I did order factory air suspension, they supposedly took it away on SRW 25s and brought it back for 26… not sure why.

Yes but the rear air is only available on Cummins powered SRW trucks. Not available with gas.

Was it available for Cummins 25MY or did they remove it? My dealer said it was gone for ordering for 25s.

It was only available on DRW initially but then opened up for SRW. I have a 25 3500 SRW on order with rear air

Thats interesting, my Mark Dodge 2025 order could take till Sept-Oct I was told on ordering. Feels like they have to finish 25's first so maybe a good sign mine won't take as long as initially stated.

When I asked a couple months ago how long an order would take they said 10 weeks, which is the same for my 2021 that I had ordered. The 26 I just ordered yesterday will take a few months, I'd bet you have your soon. If it does take till sept/oct you should cancel your order and get a 26, it was about $400 more for price increase over 25MY. They had no idea on what updates would be coming to it, I doubt its much.

Debated it a bit, I had a few grand in loyalty cash I would loose if I reordered as they expired the month I ordered my 2025.
